Let's be honest with ourselves and each other for just a moment: A lot of these women are not upset because of what J Lo was wearing, they are upset because of their husbands' reaction to what J Lo was wearing. They didn't have a problem with Adam Levine appearing on this "family program " shirtless and they don't have a problem with the cheerleaders, but they have a problem with J Lo. Are you kidding me? But last year a dude was on stage with no shirt on and the moms were slipping off their chairs. These moms who were "shocked" and "offended" by this show needs to pull the stick out of their asses and realize that their kids see worse on late night television and Netflix.

It's not like this is the first time the halftime show has been accused of being "raunchy". If people are really concerned then send the kids outside and decide later if they can watch it on YouTube...this isn't rocket science

It really wasn't that bad. I watched it with my sis-in-law, her grandmother and 12 year old son. I don't think he even looked up from the laptop for more than a second. We said "they did a great job" then moved on. :shrug: I think people are over reacting.

You can always turn the TV off. The over sexed half time is not needed.

Why is America so prudish when it comes to sex? Spain was a conservative Catholic country until recently but look at what has been on tv for decades. Same for S America

I was looking forward to seeing Shakira and J Lo they put on a great show, but it started to get a little strange. Shakira started the tongue wiggling, so I was thinking oh ok we have a lot of Middle Easterners in the U.S. now, so that's a nod to them ( Didn't know she was part Lebanese until later). The hip shaking is nothing new for Shakira, but didn't understand the tying of the rope around her wrists and belly dancing though. Did not see the halftimeshow, didn't care( european). But the outrage about everything even remotely sexualis funny in acountry, were kids have to be afraid to go to school because of shootings. A vagina ( not a vayayay, as it is some kind of cutesy pet, because you' re afraid of a proper word) has never been something to be afraid of. Sex should not be something to ve afraid of. Tell your child how to have sex with intelligence and trust them. But trust is something a good puritan just can't do, isn't it? And feminism is about waves. Right now, the wave is cover yourselves up for emancipation, in the sixties, go sleep around for emancipation. All of these people are feminists, but they are from completely different agendas. Being a feminist doesn' t care if you dance naked and have multiple sexual partners or being a virgin with forty. It's about being ok with your choice.

Just wondering, why women assume they have to be half naked to be recognized? In performing arts, in sports, in business (other than that of entertaining gentlemen). I think, this is the reason they are not often taken seriously as layers, doctors, journalists, and other high skilled professionals. Showing a lot of skin won't necessarily get you respect and recognition; (that does not mean that women should come to work all buttoned up and covered from the head to toe). Choose elegance instead.

For me the issue is the total sexualisation of the performer. When they have skills and talents like that, why is it necessary to turn these women into scantily clad and titillating sex dolls? I hate it.

I don’t know what kind of children this people are producing today , stuff like that would not make me batter an eyelid as a kid I had a mother who lectured sex and psychology and conversations about sex in our house are run of the mill as well as politics and philosophy religion ( I’m agaisnt all of them atheist since five ) we never seen any big deal as for dancing I dance since I was a kid and made many a “ burlesque strip show for my aunts and grandma when I was a kid as a joke in the kitchen . The half time show was awesome and ik it is a show and my kids no that its not an influencing thing of you want to make it that then let the influence part be wow i wanna make it to the oh i wanna make it to the superbowl or be a performer lets just think of it that way

You know I'm impressed with some of these Mother's and how well they handled the half time show. Dancing is part of life and in this day and time you really cannot hide your kids under a basket to protect them from life. All you can do is try and explain it the best you can and pray they understand. This sadly, is what the world is coming too, so get use to it.
