30 Of The Most Spine-Chilling Things Kids Have Ever Said, As Shared In This Viral Twitter Thread
There’s no doubt that kids bring joy and humor to our lives. They often leave adults in stitches by blaring their charming wisdom without thinking twice. But at the same time, they can surprise everyone around them by offering something a little more mysterious that’s bound to send chills down their spines.
That’s why when Texas-based writer Lilah Sturges asked people to share the eeriest things a child has ever said to them, they had a lot to say. From speaking about invisible figures in their rooms to recounting their supposed past lives, thousands of moms, dads, siblings, and even complete strangers rolled up their sleeves to type out some of the most unsettling responses.
From the bizarre to the straight-up chilling, Bored Panda has collected some of the best tweets from the thread. Continue scrolling and be sure to share your own spooky stories with us in the comments! This happens to kids all the time apparently. Im certain I saw and spoke with my late gramma when I was 8ish. My oldest son (a tweener at the time) recently had a half-dreaming conversation with my father in law, the week after the FIL passed. My son said my FIL shared something and asked him to tell my MIL…when he did my MIL said “no one could’ve known that, that was only something he would say to me”.
My daughter's mother died when my daughter was eight. Now a grown woman, she was showing her son, aged three, some family photos. "That's Grandma" said my grandson. "It is but how do you know" asked my daughter. "Oh, she sits on my bed and talks to me" he replied, matter of factly.
May daughter has a man with long white hair that plays either her in her dreams. My husband's papa had long white hair....so yeah.
my father died 14 days before i had my daughter, when i went to the new job i’d started the first shift a woman i’ve never seen before came up to me and said “ your dads been to see the new baby…. he approves”…..
Kids are very perceptive to the afterlife spirits. As they age, they put up barriers to block their ability to see spirits. Our son also had a visit from my uncle Bill on the night he died. Why he came to say goodbye to our son, I don’t know, but our son was about 7 at the time and told me what happened in the morning. I absolutely believed him.
I was around 4 years old, when we went with my family on a holiday-trip in my country. We stopped in a small town, and regarding to my family members, I knew all the places in that town, without ever being there. Like, where to turn left or right to reach "X" or "Y' place, and there was a monument in the city-center for the warriors killed in a freedom fight like 170 years ago. And they said, I was pointing one name, that I-knew-him. I don't remember,although....
Load More Replies...My son used to ask me, do you remember when I used to be your mom? When I asked him how he was born to me he said an angel showed him the earth and 3 different women and was asked to choose one to be born to. He told me he picked me because he was my mom and wanted us to be together again. He's 19 now and there is no doubt in my mind he was my mom in a past life. He has excessively worried about me and taken care of me his whole life. So much I had several discussions with him about just enjoy being a kid and let me do the worrying. It had no affect and to this day he still worries about me and looks for ways to take care of me.
When one of my sons was 2 or 3, he said to me one day, "Do you remember when I was the mummy and you were the little girl ?"
When my son was a toddler he talked about being Tilly, a mother with lots of children.
My son looked at my husband and said almost the same thing except they where working on a big bridge together and one of them fell off
My daughter was around the same age when she said similar to me, about when she was the grown up and I was the little girl, and recalled details of a mascot who was removed here in the UK 7 years before she was born. I can only assume she was referring to my maternal grandmother. She came out with other things I can't remember at the moment but this is the most detailed!
That's for getting rid of SPIDERS. I don't think it works on ghosts?
Load More Replies...I have never had any fears of ghosts, I used to see them often, they were almost like real live people except that they would disappear suddenly.
I would really like an explanation as to what exactly a ghost is and why they seem to be stuck where they are.
As someone who's done research on the paranormal and is a believer of the paranormal due to several experiences there's several reasons/theories. They died in the house and their spirit is still attached to the house and can't cross over, they have unfinished business, they don't want to leave or crossover, or they're waiting for a loved one to meet them before they crossover. If they were evil in life, they're evil in death and don't want to crossover for fear of what waits for them. The sad ones are they don't know they're dead, so they keep on as if they were still alive, or they're stuck in a time loop which happens if they died in a very traumatic way, essentially they died suddenly and aren't aware that they're dead, so they're stuck reliving they're death in an endless loop.
Load More Replies...Lilah Sturges kicked off the thread by sharing her own puzzling experience. "When my daughter was around 4-5, she calmly insisted that she had once been married to a man named Brad Huffington," she wrote. "When we asked what had happened to him, she replied with a note of sadness, 'He was lost at sea.'"
Later on, she posted an update: "I mentioned this tweet to my daughter (who is now 21) and she reminded me that Brad lost a leg while serving in the Navy prior to his demise and that they had five kids together."
Her question and story received an avalanche of responses, from weird questions to odd statements about the spirit world. While some found the tweets amusing, those who tend to believe the supernatural were quite spooked. Let’s be honest, reading about how children believe they can communicate with ghosts can creep anyone out.
And just like that, tattoos shall forever be called "arm stickers."
The daughter says that mom's friend(the one who passed away) is proud of her.

MY DAUGHTER WHEN SHE WAS QUITE YOUNG TOLD ME SHE CHOSE ME FOR HER DAD.
And who is the small face over the shoulder of the girl on the left? That has me far more concerned that he sees that by his sister.
What pulled my attention in this cartoon is the smiling faces of mother and father, rather than the twins. This shows how a happy family this five year old boy has and seeing this just made me happy. :)
When my nephew's son was 3 years old we asked him if his cousin, who had just found out she was pregnant, was going to have a girl or a boy. He said, "She's going to have a girl." When we asked him how he knew that, he said, "I met her in Heaven." a couple of months after that, his cousin found out she was indeed having a girl.
My son said something similar when he was three: I knew all of God's secrets, but now I forgot...
My son (5) has been saying something similar so much lately! "I used to know so much, but I forgot now," "I used to know so much before. Maybe you can remind me," etc.
Load More Replies...In Judaism, we believe that the baby is taught the entire Torah by an angel in the womb. They are then tapped on the lip and forget everything when they are born. This makes it easier for then to grasp the concepts later. But they still retain a degree of prophecy until they are a few years old. Also those with developmental issues like down's syndrome.
I remember when I was around 3 or 4, while walking with my mother, I looked up at the clouds and saw an angel. I waved and the angel waved back. this brought that memory back.
There is an old Jewish belief that babies know everything before they are born but just before they are born and angel touches their lips with a live coal so they cannot speak of it.
When my son was born 3 weeks early, after a traumatic birth, whenever I'd put him on the changing table to change his diaper, he'd look up at the ceiling and smile and kick with happiness. There was NOTHING on the ceiling. I always said he was still new enough to see the angels and they were making him laugh. 😇
"touches their lips with a live coal" to "This made me tear up! I love...." like, the poor baby get's burned and you all think it's so sweet. You know what, think whatever you think, I'm beginning to think I'm just spoiling you guys's fun.

I know of countless times where young kids somehow can tell when their moms are pregnant again. I wish the scientific community would investigate this further instead of just brushing things off. There is still so much we don’t know about the world and about science. There could be a scientific reason behind what we now consider “supernatural” phenomena.
It could be a scent that kids are sensitive to and adults don't notice.

I think much of what is called supernatural is just the natural that we haven't explained yet.
I lost my second son when he was 4 hours old. My oldest and I went to his grave one Easter Sunday, April 1st. He was talking to his brother as I encouraged him to do, and he said “Oliver guess what! Mom has another baby boy in her tummy!”. I got a positive pregnancy test on April 4th. Our third child & rainbow baby, was in fact, another boy.
yeah my asd toddler nonverbal daughter used to focus on barely pregnant bellies all the time.
Once my cousin was on all fours and he was looking through his legs (I don't know if you can tell what that means.) But my mom said "That's what they say babies do when someones pregnant." A week or two later guess what? She found out she was pregnant.
To be fair, my 16-month-old does this ALL THE TIME too and there is zero chance of me being pregnant as my husband is undergoing cancer treatment and we haven't been intimate in many, many months. I think it's just a normal thing that toddlers do.
Load More Replies...my 4 year old came up to me, snuggled on the couch with me and started caressing and kissing my belly. He looked up at me and said "baby!" my husband & i were trying at the time & i ended up getting blood drawn for faster results and sure as s**t. I was pregnant.
My grandson (4 years old) put his hand on my daughters tummy and said,”Her name is Julia”. A few weeks later, my daughter found she was pregnant. When the baby was born, my daughter said,”I haven’t decided yet what to name her”. I said to her, “your son already told you her name is Julia”. She named her Julia.
But we all know kids are brutally honest and can sometimes be like sponges soaking up all of the information around them. So they can goofily sneak up on you and act all adorable one day but stare into the void speaking about obscure things that just don't make any sense the next. It leaves moms and dads with a lot of questions in their minds and proves that parenting is a complicated experience with many highs and lows.
Probably the kid saying that made the mother dream it. The dreams we remember happen only very shortly before we wake.
The kid said it to his DAD. Thirty minutes later, the mother woke up. Re-read it.
Load More Replies...My brother and I both had the same recurring dream, where we would fly downstairs, through the dining room, down the hall and into the lounge. We didn't realise each other was having this dream until we both awoke in the lounge one morning. So weird.
Were you twins? Or were you just really close?

That's what happens to me. I can fly out of my body during sleep but I only go around the house. I do not leave the house. Kitchen, living room, bathroom. Everytime I always try to switch on the lights but my hand goes right through the switch so the light of course does not turn on

Load More Replies...As a kid I often dreamt I had an older brother. He would come visit me and I would float out my 2nd story bedroom window to meet him in the yard. Later when I was pre-teen or early teen my mother and eldest sister were talking about the baby she lost at birth. He would have been 14 years older than me. I never knew of him until this. (I am the youngest sibling.) I missed his visits when they stopped.
When my son was 7 years old, we moved to our new home. He told me that he had a friend under the bed one day. His name was Mike Smith. Mike Smith doesn't have a mouth but he oftentimes cries. This friend left when we had cats.
Not quite the same, but my kiddo is an only child, and occasionally asks if she has a sibling that she doesn't know about. When she was about 2, I fell pregnant and had to have a termination; so technically she does have a sibling... she asks like she already knows the answer and it makes me so sad.
Or hear one. Or feel one. I read that it is rare to SEE the dead but hearing them and feeling their presence is more common. I've had numerous experiences with this and always wondered why I couldn't see them when their presence was so strong.
Load More Replies...That which is why he had died. Got her into counselling and she is OK. Still talks about him.
When I was pregnant with my youngest the ultrasound I had done at 7 weeks showed 2 heartbeats, twins. I picked out names, including Jacob if one was a boy. At 20 weeks the scan showed only 1 heartbeat. My youngest was born and was a girl. As she grew I noticed she was speaking to someone I couldn't see, like all the time. She was 2 when I asked her who she was talking to and her reply shocked me, Jacob, my twin that died so I could live but couldn't explain anymore. A few years later she was able to explain that something had gone wrong inside me and that I couldn't have 2 babies so he had sacrificed himself to save her.. A few years later she was having trouble at school and she wrote a letter to him which I found and it was to Jacob, telling him that he was wrong for dying and that he should have let her die instead. I talked to her when she got home and told her that I think the reason she survived was because she was extraordinary and would do great things with her life and he knew
Yeah. I'm so sorry. Hope life is better for you now.🥺
Load More Replies...When my daughter was about 1.5yo and I was pregnant with second, one evening in bed, she kissed my belly and said "byebye baby". I asked if she meant "goodnight", she answered then "no, byebye baby". Few days later during the checkup I found out that there was no heartbeat....
So basically the youngest predicted that something was wrong with the pregnancy and it turned out to be a miscarriage?
I love that you included the "Frau". It means "Woman" in German or in this case "Mrs.". The way you wrote it you basically said: "Woman, I am sorry..."
Load More Replies...That is freaky. Miscarriages are hard enough without that added level of premonition.
When my sister was pregnant with what would have been child number 4 I had a strange dream that the baby had no arms or legs, its hands and feet were directly attached to the torso. Next day we found out she had a miscarriage.
If you’re worried your child has been acting strange lately, Anisa Lewis, a positive parenting coach told Bored Panda in a previous interview that you should trust your judgment. "It really depends on your child and what it is that they are doing that has alerted you to their different behavior. You know your child best and if you are concerned in any way and the behavior has not changed for the better then it is always best to intervene," she advised.
“Depending on the age of the child and the behavior, you might wish to start with open-ended questions ‘What is going on for you?’ ‘How can I help?’ as a starting point,” Lewis said and added that more serious behavior changes may need a different approach.
Highly possible. A strong connection creates a good chance for reacquaintance in the next life.
Yeah- apparently my grandfather and I were really close when j was a newborn, but he died before I was one- I honestly sometimes think that I might be some form of a reincarnation of him. Everything my parents say about him sounds like they're talking about me.

I would try to find out who died in an accident at that particular intersection...
In Buddhist beliefs, once you get it 'right', you no longer have to return to try again.
not sure its about getting it right, think it's just constant learning

I really want to know how long ago this kid was referencing. Like...did mom have to be reborn and start over too from like 1910 or was more recent and more of a re-set?
been at this for thousands of lifetimes... still waiting. NOT kidding. I know of 13 past lives
Waiting for what? Shouldn't you have learned by now? Don't you remember where things went wrong? I am fascinated by this topic! Did you do anything to remember? Where you born remembering? How did it happen? DO tell! :)
Load More Replies...But when the little ones speak about their disturbing imaginary friends or point at something only they seem to see, you can’t help but wonder. There are many theories online about kids allegedly seeing a ghost or conjuring up stories about them. And they caught the attention of Jacqueline D. Woolley, a psychology professor at the University of Texas who researches children’s evaluation and understanding of reality vs. the fantastical.
"There are admittedly lots of reports of kids seeing ghosts," she told The Washington Post. However, the professor added there are many holes in stories like these, namely, the brain. "Our minds naturally make connections between events, whether they’re connected or not. The brain pays attention to evidence that fits our theory and ignores the evidence that doesn’t fit," she explained.
No offense but your reply made me chuckle. I always thought buying a home near a cemetery would be great; it would be very, very quiet.

*SENSITIVE MATERIAL ALERT* I met an older woman who lost both legs in a very freak accident. She was in elementary school and told her mother she did not want to go to school that day, she was afraid of getting hurt. But her mom took her anyway, bawling and upset. At the bus stop, a car veered to miss something and struck the young girl, pinning her to a building by her legs. The young girl lost both legs, had a good life but her mother never forgave herself for not taking her daughters fears to heart that day.
my grandma (rest her soul) said she hsd the same thing when she was alive. she had claimed she could always see bad things happening. one time she told my uncle not to go to his friends house, and like in the story, a few hours or days later there was a shootout at his friends
Not really in the same league as these, but one night I was sitting outside and I jumped up, feeling scared all of a sudden, and ran inside. A moment later, lightning struck a tree beside my house and it fell on the porch where I'd been sitting. It started to rain.
Load More Replies...A few years ago, it was a hot Summer day and I wanted to go jogging outside, but, because it was hot and very sunny, I decided to take a route that was full of beautiful houses with lots of trees that provided shade and it was near the lake. All in all, I was envisioning a very pleasant run. Right when I was tying my sneakers, a block of thought pass through my head: DON'T TAKE THAT ROUTE. IT'S NOT SAFE. GO THE OTHER WAY. I always follow my instinct, but I was going to ignore my gut feeling and still go the scenery route. Suddenly I felt a kick in my stomach and the same block of thought came through but more forcefully: DON'T GO THAT ROUTE! IT'S NOT SAFE! GO THE OTHER ROUTE! Needless to say, I took the other route. Three hours later, I heard the news that a jogger was assaulted at gun point on the same scenery route that I was warned not to take, at the same time that I was going to go!
You probably experienced the opposite of Deja Vu , it’s called Jamais Vu I only leant about it last week
I have had lots of these moments to the point that we think I have a psychic gift I didn’t listen to one of my prompts and ended up in a fatality accident vs a motorcyclist he was drunk my aunt and I were I injured but I never don’t listen to the prompts or guidings anymore
My oldest daughter was able to use vocabulary like that at age 2. My 5 other kids weren't like that. It's uncommon but it can happen.
Load More Replies...People should give a thought to the fact that parents understand their kids, even the gibberish. Sometimes when they write down what their kids say they add the small words so others can understand too. "It's vevy bee twucky " turns to: "that is a very big truck"..
My children spoke like this too so doubters should realize children are sponges if you water them the retain the water ie ie vocabulary if you throw them in a crib corner or other they die! So yeah mom for education of your son and other parents that don't are just well bad parents.
O.M.G. Some say that when, a twin is lost, some of the ones that live, have a difficult life, feeling they are missing something, but have no idea, if they were not told, of the twin !!!
He knew his twin and he knows you. Even though he recognized that his twin never made it safely into the world with him, he still recognized the twin's spirit and knew he had to send her on. It's a good thing for the family. The twin needed to leave and the family needed to let go.
I don't think exceptional vocabulary and usage is unusual in a very young child. I think it depends on how their brains are structured. I would be interested in knowing if the traditional "opposite side" of the brain that controls math skills, etc. is also strong. I was always gifted in English and languages, but had to work at math (except chemistry and chemical math - somehow I breezed through that)
Probably also how much and how they are talked to, as well.

Load More Replies...Oh, come on! She was the next family member to die…when? The next day? The next month? Twenty-five years later???? Sometimes we create a situation where none exists.
When your child speaks of a visit from the other side, do not freak out. "You want to work with the emotion, not the ghost," Woolley said and suggested you "work within the fantasy".
For example, think about a monster that's under the bed: "Engage with the kid as to what it looks like and what it does. Ask her if she’s scared of the ghost or if she likes it and if she’s seen it before." Try to speak with your child and understand where all of this is coming from. "Then it’s up to you as a parent to decide if you want to encourage or discourage this belief."
When I was in the first grade, we (My mom, grandma, and I) were visiting my cousins in the city. We lived about 45 minutes away and I saw them at least once a month. When it was time for us to go home in the evening, they say I was hanging onto my cousin and sobbing that I didn't want us to go home. Mom and Grandma relented and we spent the night in the city with our family. Our house burned down that night (electrical fire from some old Christmas decorations.)
my 4 year old grandson kept saying over and over when are we going to the hospital? I kept saying we aren't going to the hospital! Long story short we ended up going to the hospital a few weeks later, his mom got very ill. Anything else you wanna share little buddy??
I think if, that were me I would pay close attention, throughout the future, with that child !!!
When I was around 4 or 5, I was suppose to go to preschool but ended up sick and not going. My aunt who took me and my cousin to preschool ended up getting thinned and the car hit my side. I would’ve been dead.
Not a kid thing but weird like this one. I had this weird feeling one morning and called my girlfriend and immediate family and said I had a feeling someone was going to get hurt so be extra careful today. Later that afternoon my dad was in his woodworking shop and cut off his thumb at the knuckle joint... luckily they reattached it...but the feeling...weird.
"who you gonna call?" - the land owner because were not living here anymore.
It seems strange, but I do believe, as time goes on, there are many incidents, you simply can't dismiss, gradually, we will have a better understanding !!!
Children retain such memories from past lives for at least a while. As long as the child is not confused by the memories, but recognizes their belonging to a past life, he is OK. It's just that that past life was traumatic in its ending, so he remembers it still. He will eventually forget it.
No, it means, that all the energy what makes you living, doesn't just vanish in sight, when you are dying. That's the law of physics: energy just doesn't disappear. Now, there are theories, that the amount of energy what is needed to have an intelligent, more complex being, is more concentrated, and doesn't vanish so easily, like one of a plant....

I was told that when I was younger I was born at the same time and date as one of my still best friends, but we ended up only meeting each other 4 years later, and apparently we went to the same daycare, and when my mom dropped me off, the first thing she heard me say to my friend was not asking his name or the normal things, but I said," Hi (Blank for privacy purposes)", and he turned around and said," You remember me (My name)?" She said she it had ben the most puzzling thing to happen to her.
Most of these stories, a child is unable to create, in my estimation !!!
I have a roommate who can’t wear a electronic watch. It just kind of fries. Too much energy is my guess. He can also do hands on healing. I’m not religious although he is. I’m a medical professional so science is my guess.
Neither my husband nor his mother can wear watches because the watch will fry out in just a few hours and becomes completely unfixable. They can't wear any rings, gold, silver etc because the metal turns black , also within hours. I had our matching wedding rings custom made from silver that belonged to my great grandparents by a close friend of ours. The rings had inlays of the silver service floral design my grandparents were given as a wedding gift in 1918. They were stunning. A couple hours after we exchanged rings my husband noticed his ring had started to turn black. By the end of our reception the inside of his ring was completely black and the inlay had begun to separate from the ring. Thirty one years later my ring looks just like the day I put it on. His ring remains black and separated. Even our jeweler couldn't fix it.

That's happened most of my adult life (I'm Jedi Generation, tech wasn't common place until my late teens). When I was a teen I someone told me they always knew I was about to arrive at their place because their fire alarm would give off those little test beeps which never happened any other time. I can also generate a whole of heat in my palms just by thinking about it, which I can use to temporarily stop people's pain, I'm like a tens machine without the little shocks. So that's cool. I've always put it down to some people being able to manipulate their energy more efficiently or easily.
Oh Yeah. Happened a lot with me and my teenager. She burst light bulbs with her temper. Most were turned off when they exploded. It's all witchcraft until science can explain it.
To this day, my niece drives under a street light and POP-they go out. EVERY time I am with her!!!
I use to get mad and make light bulbs blow out. I’ve also made a pillow float in mid air while I was mad and made a clock fly off the tv. It’s the energy that we build up inside.
I am a Sidha. After a day of meditating at a retreat I came home and I was feeling a little overwhelmed. As my daughter was asking me a question in frustration I said please give me a minute and at that very moment all the electricity on the entire block went out. Shut up to Smyrna Georgia…
My son and I have lost count of the number of street lights that go out as soon as we drive past.

I just googled Brad Huffington obituary. There is only one and he died the day after this post... weird

After looking it up, there actually was a Brad Huffington who lost a leg and was lost at sea
At least that was your first thought.... Mine was the movie "Mama"
Load More Replies...It doesn't happen only to a young child. My friend often reaches her office early in the morning when other employees aren't there yet. She usually goes straight to her room and begins to do her errands. The other day, her colleague said "Hi, good morning" to her and she replied "Yeah, I saw you in your room and I didn't want to disturb you", to which she got replied from her colleague "But I just got here ....." And she is not the only one who sees this "phenomenon" in that office. At times she hires me to fix computers in her office and fortunately, I've never felt any sense of horror there.
I was a nanny for a bilingual family. English and Chinese. The your boy at 2&1/2 only said one word or used signs. Second kids, and bilingual, tend to speak later than their older sibling. I believe in speaking to kids like they're people. I spoke with the all day long. 60 hrs a week. One day the second kid was staring at the grass that were crossing and I asked if he was ok. He looked right at me and said, "I'm just nervous because this grass looks wet and slippery." Just like that. By second grade he was reading at a 6th grade level
This literally makes no sense. How does he miss himself? (Outside of an abstract philosophical way I don't think a 4 year old would be capable of).
I REMEMEBER WHEN WE VISITED GETTYSBURG, I HAD THE OVER WHELMING FEELING I HAD BEEN THERE BEFORE. THIS ALSO OCCURRED A FEW YEARS LATER WHEN I WAS IN THE UP OF MICHIGAN AT FORT MICHILAMAKINAC (SP?) BOTH THOSE PLACES ARE FAMOUS FOR BLOOD SHED. GETTYSBURG OF COURSE AND THE FORT BECAUSE OF A INDIAN MASSACRE AT THAT FORT. I WAS BORN IN 1963. THE FORT MASSACRE HAPPENED IN 1763 AND GETTYSBURG WAS IN 1863. SO............
My roommate, daughter of a preacher, al×ays said heaven is getting yo do it all again
I am sure this was startling but I would continue to feed this kiddo the French language from that point on. That way he could continue to be bilingual.
Easily explained by cartoons… but whatever the cause, keep encouraging him to learn French.
I don't know why the possibility of past lives creep the hell out of people. We all had to come from somewhere. It would make sense that we all are kind of like borrowed or recycled energy. I find it fascinating, but then again I have a terrible fear of death.
I am a retired RN and have seen a lot of death. Except for a very few the act of dying is very easy and peaceful. The patient simply relaxes and is gone. Nothing to fear.

No head, but still had a smile??? And where did the pockets come from, with no pants/shirt? ... I think maybe it loses something in the translation. https://lyricstranslate.com/en/el-espanto-ghost.html

Ok but kids say stuff like that, I said a lot of weird s**t when I was a kid and I never meant it
And that is how you immediately know who your favorite child should be.
From a physics standpoint, that's theoretically possible. For all we know, all black holes are pocket dimensions.
There is a theory that black holes can cause the correct conditions for a Big Bang, this could theoretically cause a new universe/pocket dimension inside the black hole.

Probably saw a tv show or something, I did stuff like that all the time when I was younger
Ummm...parents teach by example!!! Children live by the example set before them. The old man was his dad. All kids look at their parents as old.
Bologna… if you are going to make up a story at least come up with something believable.
l mean yeah...how can a 4yr old even reach the stove? Even with a chair it would be difficult to turn on the burner and have the wearwithall to cook bacon and not get burned.
Load More Replies...I was cooking pancakes at 3. Making them from scratch. So yeah... Believable.
Our granddaughter, at a verbal 15 months old, was learning her shapes. Using our Christmas tree ornaments to show off her new skills, he pointed to ornaments and asked her to tell us each shape. Square, rectangle, diamond were correct. At “circle” she lit up and yelled GRANDPA. The circle ornament had been gifted by our local funeral home at the passing of my father. It had his name and years of birth and death stamped on the back. He died the year before she was born.
The creature in the far right looks somewhat like Kirby, doesn’t it?
My 5 yr old convinced his classmates he had an alien stepmother. There was no stepmother of any kind
Umm no, some kids have sperm donors. Or surrogate birthmothers. Or are adopted by single parents. This is 2022, what year did you get stuck in?
Load More Replies...Some children speak full sentences as early as 6 months, they're usually highly intelligent, or neglected(or both), but it's not as uncommon as you think. That being said, people do LOVE to make up stories.
Load More Replies...I love all the comments about how "that can't happen," "I'm (professional) and that didn't happen," etc. There are amazing things that *statistically* may not happen, but that do occur anyway. Just because it's NOT LIKELY does not mean it's impossible. A five year old girl gave birth to a healthy child. Statistically impossible, but it's a fact. The more you know, the more you realize that you *don't* know. Accept the fact that you haven't experienced everything in this world, and learn more. Peace.
In every story or video I've read or watched regarding children referencing reincarnation, all the children are unusually intelligent and quite verbal at extremely early ages. Maybe there's a correlation between how recently their past persona passed away and when they came to the new body. If it was very recent, they still may be retaining some of the verbal skills of the past life.
I have two kids. I work in a daycare. One year olds cannot speak sentences. They just can't.
One year and 11 months is still technically a 1 year old...

Lol, like making up a story about being a speech language pathologist?

I had him smell the Freesias, as they are my favorite flower in the world and remind me of my childhood. He smelled them and said, "these are Grandma's favorite". As he has a Granny and a Nana, I asked "Grandma who?". He looked at me as though I was being particularly dense and said "Your Grandma Lewis!". He was right. They were her favorite and we had them all over the house in the spring. She passed away 10+ years before he was born and I had never mentioned her to him before. It made her feel close ❤️🩹.
Some people have, a special sense, not sure what it is called, but these stories are for real !!!

His son (I think he was about 3 when his sister was born), scrambled up from playing with his toys and yelled, "No, Emmie! We('re) not s'posed to tell!".
Maybe someone had told them honestly about how children are born but didn't want them embarrassing people who prefer silly stories about gooseberry bushes and fairies?
Load More Replies...When my friend was little she had repeated nightmares about dying at sea on a burning submarine. She claimed to be a young man who died a long time ago. She said there were no survivors. She had waking memories of that life, too. Then, when she got older they stopped happening. A few years ago she had another one, very vivid. That morning the news was on about the hundredth anniversary of a submarine that sunk after catching fire, leaving no survivors. Pretty eerie.
I'm atheist, and have no consistent explanation, but the threads here are not something new. Many kids, up to the age of three/four, have memories of the previous incarnation. We don't take them seriously, and there's nothing wrong with this, but the phenomena does exist.
Gah! Atheist here, too. But I will not deny the weird s**t that happens in my close and extended family. Is science we don't know yet.

He used to be terrified of helicopters flying overhead and gunfire in movies right up until he was 5. He would also have horrible nightmares of war and death.
When my son was a baby his music mobile (on the other side of the room) would start on its own but the buttons wouldn't be pressed in. When he was three, he asked his dad why the man with no nose was standing behind him. At four years old we moved my son into the spare room for a few days whilst we redecorated his bedroom to a big boy room. Whilst in the spare room my son declared he was so bored. When we asked why, he said the man doesn't play with him in the spare room!!!! We lived in that house another 8 years.
We lived in a 2 bedroom house and had to switch rooms with our kids. They would never sleep for long because "the dark man" scared them. The night my father passed away my 3 kids slept with me. At 6:30am I woke to my older son, who was 3 1/2, giggling loudly. He then says "funny glasses papa". Turns to look at me and said " papa made the dark man leave. We are safe now". We found out later that my dad passed 5 minutes before my son woke me.
You know, while I am sure some of these are made up, I can pick out a few that I think are legit and I have a theory that I wish could be tested, but I don't know how it could ever be done scientifically. One thing about adults is most of the way we perceive the world is our brain just taking shortcuts based on information we already have. It's very efficient. Children, on the other hand, don't have that same base and so they're constantly tuned into their environment by necessity. They also then process that information differently because they don't have all the neuron "shortcuts" built up like adults do. As an adult, I found psilocybin gave me a taste of what it must be like to see the world the way they do. But I think they may pick up on things in their environment that adults just don't perceive because of the difference in processing.
When I was about 4 years old, I came running to my mom. Very exited I told her, I’d figuered out what I wanted to be, when I grew up. Then I paused and said “well if I grow up this time”.
I was changing my son’s diaper when he was 3 years old. He started to tell me about his siblings (he was an only child). When I asked about his siblings, he would not give me any details so I asked their names. He got really quiet and refused to answer and so I pressed again. He violently twisted his head to look me dead in the eyes and said in an extraordinarily demonic voice, “They have no names!” I got him wrapped up and got the Hell out of the room as quickly as I could. I did not go back into his room until my wife got home. He's 17, now. I've told this story for 14 years and I get chills almost every time.
Tell me you don’t have children without telling me you don’t have children.
