Artist Hand-Cuts Insanely Intricate Paper Art From Single Sheets Of Paper

Suzy Taylor, an extraordinarily talented paper-cut artist in Hertfordshire, England, creates mind-bogglingly detailed works of paper art that are cut entirely by hand. She cuts each of her original designs out of a single piece of paper.

Her unique artwork revolves primarily around highly detailed renditions of folk art and natural or floral themes. She’s certainly passionate about her work; “I love working this way, it’s totally absorbing and I can get lost in it for hours.” She has a very popular Etsy shop which is temporarily closed as of the publication of this article, but if you love her beautiful art, be sure to follow her!

If you love Taylor’s incredibly intricate works of art, be sure to check out Akira Nagaya and Maude White. It’s amazing what an artist can do with a simple sheet of paper!

There is a beast with heart of cold stone that dashes like lightning, shreds flesh from bone. // Bewitched by this beast, I fell to my knees. My mouth babbled madness and mumbled soft pleas. // I stared down the ravenous, gnashing dark maw of a cute cuddly kitten with yarn in its paw

That is truly amazingly beautiful work. How you do that and keep the paper together and the time it must take and the patience.... really fantastic

I have a Japanese picture that was made in a similar way ... and it's a traditional art there. It's amazing to see your modern versions ... and after using sharp knives like this in my craft of handmade cards .. no .. I just couldn't make these !!!!

Amazing... she must have so much patience...! I'm an artist too & I used coloured pencil which also requires patience because it's small strokes over & over again & it can take weeks to complete something. But I don't think I would have the patience for this... apart from which I would probably make a mess of it & cut my fingers & bleed all over it! Brilliant idea though & beautiful creations <3
