A Nymph’s tale:
We come upon a barren land,
A lifeless expanse of dirt and sand.
The sky is gray, the sun shines little.
There are few trees,
All dry and brittle.
But, they say, long ago
A forest grew here.
Trees of all sizes,
plants, high and low.
A bright sun shone;
On a bright young river,
Turning to and fro.
On giant bears, majestic and strong,
And on a beautiful bird with a beautiful song.
But this could not be,
For humans came
and took all the trees.
They filled the air with smog and smoke,
and the river with plastic,
on which the animals did choke.
They took this paradise
that you will never see,
and squeezed out the life, the sun, the trees.
They left a barren land,
a lifeless expanse of dirt and sand.
On which a great forest once grew,
A beautiful place that we once knew.
The second stanza isn't very good, but I like it.
I woke up one day to fine day
to find myself not able to open my eyes
yet I could see everything in the world
No, I can't say no. No I can't say no
I tried to move my body
but my limbs and bones
were froze and as
hard and sturdy as stones
yet I could move everywhere in the world
No, I can't say no. No I can't say no
voices was screaming in my head
to get up and move out of bed
yet I can could speak everything in the world
No, I can't say no. No I can't say no
I tried my best the last time: I did it!
I was moving and gliding as
free and as unbound as air
but my body was still peacefully sleeping down there.
My Poem (the contest was closed) State of Mind I am a pendulum, swinging back and forth in a grandfather clock People just watch as I cry out. I am a fisherman's boat, tossed upon the open sea, In the froth, and carried along by the night sky's gale. I am asleep, on a castle of cards And it's hard to get down, When you have not a ladder, a rope, Or a friend.
