When we were children, all of us had that one thing we really wanted no matter what. We begged our parents for that one particular thing during Christmas or our birthday in hopes of getting it.

It purely depended on luck and whether your parents were down with the idea, whether it was an advanced Barbie doll from a new collection or an impressive Star Wars LEGO kit.

So, Pandas, tell us the first thing that popped into your mind when reading the title—we will be waiting for your answers in the comments!

An Easy Bake Oven. Ooooh, I wanted one SO BAD! Never got it (my parents did the best they could, no blame!) as a kid. For years, every Christmas, I joked, "No Easy Bake... AGAIN!" which became a running theme, into my 30s!! LOL!! The Christmas I was 35, I opened a present and OMG! An Easy Bake Oven!!! My father said, "Now shut up already!!!" HAHAHAHA!!! I finally got it! :D

@Billythekid Thanks for your words. It won't be difficult to cut my mom out of my life since she disliked me and said bad things about me. But my dad...He actually talked to me and we made good memories the short time he was with my family. it was really nice, even after I learned he was a thief...

Some one that actually likes me and someone to tell me it's ok. My mother left me when I was 5. My grandparents took me in, but they don't really understand me. My dad just moved out of town a few weeks ago, and while I may be bubbly, on the inside I feel like I'm dying...

I really just wanted people to be happy and I still do. I always try to put other people before me. and because I did that people thought that I was just a pushover and that I was just the nice kid that they would only talk to me if they needed something. but I mean I don't really care. I just hate it when I see someone upset.

I want friends that actually remember you and stay in touch after you move to a new high school.
Oh yeah, and an instant camera.
And husky puppies.
And a whole house filled with fiction books to myself.
(Yeah, that would be le ultimate heaven.)

When I was little I was obsessed with American Girl dolls. My best friends had them, but I couldn't afford one, because they costed 115$. So, I was saving up all of my money so I could buy one.

It was a very joyful Christmas when my parents gave me a gift-card to meet me halfway.

To stop existing. My home life wasn't terrible, but I spent most of my childhood trying to be invisible to my volatile father, my authoritarian mother and my siblings, who I could neither trust nor rely on for anything except to bring me negative attention from my parents. I had no place which I felt safe and no one which I could trust.

1. A bunk bed. I saw it in movies and was always fascinated. I got it much later and had top bunk while my sister had bottom.

2. A mermaid barbie. It was suddenly popular and none of my friends had it. I guess it hadn't released in India yet and so I would keep asking my dad to get it for me, as he worked abroad. When I finally got one, the novelty wore out very soon.

3. A white swimsuit, which I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere in some movie wore by someone really cool. Again, I asked my dad to get me one and he got me a hot pink bikini instead. Back then I clearly didn't have the kind of sense that would have told me that anything white would get uncomfortaly sheer when wet.

I have memories of around Christmas time or ANYtime I would go and watch the tv and look at all the commercials and just go “MOMMY I NEED THIS!!!” And it was probably just a pretty Barbie doll. I was around 8 or 9. I still want those memories bc I’m like almost 13, and my mom used to joke abt me asking for everything 😢

I know that a lot of people already said this, but friends who listen to me. I had two best friends in 2nd grade. One of them abandoned me to go be friends with 'the cool girl', and the other scared the hell out of me and then didn't apologize. (She pretended to be able to turn into a robot, which was funny, but a when I said the keyword to turn her back into a human (chicken nugget), she 'malfunctioned' and was a robot for the rest of the day.)

When I was a kid I was always drawing My Little Pony or other animated show characters and stories (I was like 7 so they were pretty bad) on whatever paper I could find aka printer paper and notebook paper. One day my sister told me what a sketchbook was. Man, I wanted a sketchbook so bad I would run away from my mom to the art section every time we went to Walmart, but my mom never let me get one and never bought one for me because she thought I was just "going through a phase" with my drawings. 14 years old I start high school art class and I got 3 sketchbooks and filled all of them. And then my sister left me her unused sketchbooks when she went off to collage

This is something I wish now, as I'm older...when I was about 6-7, my grandmother had already had 2 separate strokes, and couldn't read or talk. I was learning how to read, and my mom asked if I would read to my grandmother what I was learning...I was too shy and embarrassed to, but now I'd give anything to be able to just be able to read to her. I feel terrible that I didn't, just because I was shy.
Don't be shy, guys. You can do it.
