Britney Spears is a true American sweetheart, and just recently, she painted a bunch of pretty flowers in watercolor and sold them for $10,000 at an auction benefiting the victims of last month’s tragic shooting in Las Vegas. It’s the purest thing and people are trampling all over it.
Look, we get it. The woman is no Picasso. But something about those simple pink and blue petals just takes us back to the good old days of art class and Paint By Numbers, and the fact that she did it for charity makes it all the more commendable. “The flowers in my painting represent a new beginning, and it’s in that spirit that we move forward,” Britney stated about the tableau, which went on to sell at the Vegas Cares auction to Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous star Robin Leach.
Despite how unbelievably heartwarming this story is, some people still can’t move past the ‘ugly’ and ‘childish’ look of the painting. “I could paint better blindfolded with my toes,” one user callously commented. What the hell is wrong with you people? This was NOT about the painting. It was about raising $10,000 for charity and this was a lot more fun then handing over a $10,000 check. Some people just CAN'T go through life without bitching about something.

Art is priceless. Before they stole the Mona Lisa, only few know about it and worthed half its today price. Or somebody can sell a ball with an autogram of some famous sport player for a tens of thounsands of dollars. So If somebody buyes it for that much, worth that much.

Yes, the painting is terrible. But... doesn't matter! that is not the point! I am no fan of Britney, but I am glad that she is using her fame and celebrity status to give value to a simple thing (that she KNOWS is not "fine art") and help people. So, good for her.

The painting is mostly desirable because Britney is the "artist", it is nice and went to a good cause. It was a fun thing that more "famous" people should do. Thank you Britney for doing this.

Good for her, at least she didn't politicize the attack within moments of word of it. She tried to do some good. It is called kindness. She also has done other charitable work as well.

Yeah i don't buy this b******t, her painting is f****n awful and yes she could of just donated the money anyway seeing as she is a multi-millionaire but she just wants more attention because she has had her day. Don't get me wrong me though....doing anything for charity is amazing but i hate the self-promotion of these awful celebrities.

It's not about her contribution, and it's not about the charity. The complaints are about what she's selling in the pictures and videos. If it was all about art and charity, she wouldn't need to be selling 'herself' in the process. That just cheapens the nobleness of it.

Crazy.. I am a Artist and spend long hours and months to do paintings.. It is the way I make my living.. The one she did looks like it took an hour.. Maybe took her months but I do not think so.. If she wants to do as a hobby great.. But she brought in that money in her name not her talent...Cruel joke put up on professional artist.. Good for charity's sake..

To the person who said "I could paint better blindfolded with my toes": Go into any museum where they display modern art, and I have no doubt you'll find many, many paintings that look just as amateurish and unprofessional as Miss Spears' does. If you are a fan of Realism, you certainly would not like most of the paintings there. BTW, I'm not particularly a fan of her music, but if she can do this and someone buys it, and the money goes to charity... why not??

Her artistic talent may be meh, but her heart is in the he right place. And if she's also giving money to cancer research, so much the better! Quit botching about her lack of painting talent and concentrate on the fact that it raised money, which was the whole point of the auction.

The painting is cute, better than I could do , even paint by number. AND someone was willing to pay $10,000 for it. That is what counts. A lot of other rich people haven’t bothered to donate to any of the fundraising for other tragedies we have had. Get over it. People just have to have something to b***h about.

Sorry but who are you to say that isn't "Real Art" There are Modern artist who take paint and splatter it on a canvas and call it "Art". Art is a sense of self, an expression, you can't look at something and say that it isn't art if you were not present during it's time of conception. For example, why did she chose flowers, why were those colors chosen, what was her first thought when she decided to paint this, Why was a smaller canvas chosen. Good for Brittany, she is expressing herself and doing what she can to help those who have lost so much.
