Watercolor Time-Lapse Painting “ Paeonia ”; Continuing My Ongoing Project “seasons In Your Hair”
Part of a larger and ongoing project “Seasons in your hair” where for each month of the year I’m illustrating plants and nature that inspire me and I’m trying to capture the characteristics and emotions of those elements into the features and personality of the depicted model.
Her name is Paeonia. The Greek mythology explains that Paeonia is a beautiful young nymph that attracts the attention of Apollo, who begins to flirt with her. When Paeonia realizes that Aphrodite is watching them, she becomes bashful and turns bright red. In anger, Aphrodite transforms the nymph into a peony flower. This is how the peonies came to symbolize bashfulness, shyness, timidity.
