Artist Uses Packing Tape To Create Beautiful Portraits Of Moroccan People
“They are poor and ugly, but that’s what allows me to invent.” Says Olivier Poujol, a French born artist, now living in Morocco and creating portraits and collages from packing tapes. “Tones, colors, shapes and emotions I create from such simple material like the packing tape, never stop to surprise me.”
When he arrived to Morocco, he was struck by its beauty, culture and piles of cardboard boxes, cartons and packaging adhesives everywhere. Soon Olivier Poujol discovered that Moroccans reuse almost everything. So, Olivier began turning these waste items into true works of art.
