A cat owner, who goes by “Jay” on social media, took to her TikTok page to expose the terrible discovery she recently made.
Jay uploaded a video on Sunday (March 10), which has since gone viral, amassing 2.4 million views, captioning it: “I really can not believe the maintenance team patched my cat into the freaking wall!!

“I feel sooo bad he was probably so scared.”
In the video, Jay appeared to be desperately cutting her wallboard with a knife while her cat stuck his paw through a hole in the wall.
Jay managed to safely free her pet; however, she was visibly fuming over the situation, claiming that maintenance workers had sealed him inside the wall while they were doing renovations to her apartment.
Many people were left horrified at Jay’s video, with a person commenting: “THIS HAPPENED TO ME.”

“An HVAC company trapped my cat in the wall, and when my husband told them and asked for help they told us to get a new cat! I lost it.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “They absolutely knew. People treat cats so bad and it breaks my heart.”
A separate individual chimed in “I would’ve had a lawyer involved THAT day, I don’t even understand like how.”

On Monday (March 11), Jay went on to upload a follow-up video on TikTok, this time showing various issues currently troubling her residential area, including her kitchen sink and counter lying in the middle of her living room, an open trash bag full of moldy drywall, and unstable suspended closet and pantry doors that could “fall off and hit [her] on [her] head.”
Jay had also recorded herself confronting her property manager, where she admitted she had a “hard time believing” that her cat getting stuck in the wall was an “accident.”
Such incidents are more common than one might believe.

In October 2022, TikTok user @AshlinHadden posted a video showing her home renovations, which took a harrowing turn after she realized her pet cat had been accidentally trapped inside a wall in her bathroom.
“As I’m sitting here trying to figure out where my cat is, I can hear the cat crying from somewhere in here,” she said in the TikTok video at the time, as per The New York Post.
According to the pet owner, her contractors had pulled out the bathtub and put in the new shower before the cat had seemingly snuck in when they were cutting the wall.
“I ended up punching a hole in the wall and out comes this,” she said, gesturing towards the cat.
Jay’s video continued to anger viewers
Cats will check out any opening. Whenever I did any kind of wall work, I kept the cat out of the room. The spaces in walls and ducts are big enough for them to wander in and they may not make any noise for hours. This is pretty common. Keep cats away from maintenance work.
The person who thinks someone walled in their own cat for attention: you don't know cats (or cat lovers). Years back, I opened the fridge door while someone's active kitten was close by. I shut the door, couldn't see the kitten. Opened the fridge door and little Clay jumped out, not one bit bothered. Let's hope he learned that fridges don't have an open door policy.
Load More Replies...Poor kitten. Thank god that it was in US - good luck with breaking ANY kind of European wall with a knife...
Good point. Even a plasterboard partition would take a lot more than that to break through, a saw or a big hammer at least.
