Owls are often associated with ancient knowledge and wisdom. Therefore, it is unusual to see these nocturnal creatures acting funny or derpy. Recently, Fuji Kachoen Garden Park’s official Twitter account shared a video of an owl named Calula sitting on the top of a log and ‘hugging it’ with its huge wings.

The video posted on June 22nd is almost 20 seconds long and shows this owl’s unusual behavior. Calula has positioned its body on the flat upper surface of a log and stretched out its wings on both sides of it. It makes us wonder what made this owl act this way? The video now has 259.1k views and 27.9k likes on Twitter so the video has definitely gained some attention on Twitter!

This my log, it is a very special log, no you can not sit on it, no you can not touch it. Mine for me only.

We feed birds on our deck and almost every day we have different species that splay out their wings and just lay flat on the deck rail in the sun for a bit. They are not drying off because it isn't on rainy days--maybe just sun bathing on a flat surface that can accommodate their wing span? They certainly seem to enjoy having the sun between their feathers.
