Do you remember when everyone had an infinity symbol tattoo? Or the dog filter era? Or the snow boots? Or the statement necklaces?
From the quirky to cringeworthy trends, millennials have gone through it all. Millennials have seen trends come and go at lightning speed, and yes, we admit that some of the decisions were not ideal, but you have to admit that some of the trends still seem pretty cool even today…
Time to revisit the millennial world and vote on which trends are outdated.

Millennial Tattoos
B***h please, I don't get a tattoo because it's a trend, I get one because I like it.
OK, but TBF: "Tramp stamps" were a horrid trend: those tattoos just low enough you mostly couldn't see them, but just high enough to poke out of the lowriders that were so damned common.
Load More Replies...I hate that butterfly tattoos have been named a bad trend. I have a blue butterfly on my wrist because my son picked it out. I needed a coverup done and told him to pick anything, and he choose that, so it's special to me.
Skinny Jeans
Someone once defined "fashion" as "something so awful that we have to change it every 6 months". Wear what's comfortable, suits you and appropriate for the occasion. Don't change just because someone you've heard of is wearing it.
It was Oscar Wilde, I believe, who said something along those lines.
Load More Replies...Gen Z will have to peel my skinny jeans off of my cold, dead millennial body.
I mean, as a Gen Z born in the 2000s… by all means, keep them! I prefer to wear what I find comfortable as well; and if you had asked me (which you didn’t), honestly, I also thought skinny jeans were still popular.
Load More Replies...Don't care, I hate those baggy jeans. Of course fits good for others and looks good on them, but not for me.
I'm the opposite. I have chubby thighs and thin everywhere else so I look like a frog or a chicken in skinny jeans. The baggier or even just straight leg jeans balance me out.
Load More Replies...I feel old. I remember us all cringing at the new ‘skinny jeans’ fad and wondering if we’d go back to the world of nut huggerz a la 1970’s and 80’s
So what WAS the effect of skinny jeans on millennials? I do remember when pliers were the fashion accessory for women to pull on jeans in the '90's.
Statement Necklaces
Millenial Home Trends
IKR? Those are annoying, but the interior used in the illustration is pretty great.
Load More Replies...A cozy couch and the ability to keep plants alive is outdated? The fùck?!?!
As an "elder Millenial," which makes me feel so great lol, I am over grey everything. I love grey but the overuse and lack of any color or life ruined it!!
Load More Replies...Ugg Boots
Crocs are ugly, but they are quite good. And this looks like perfect slip-on shoes for short walk outside in winter.
Load More Replies...They are bad for the health of the feet, the flat sole does not provide enough support on a hard surface, the ankles and feet get sore. I've never understood why you should sacrifice your feet for bad shoes for trendy reasons. Of course, the same applies to narrow-toed heels and other stupid things.
I bought some low-budget fake Uggs with very flexible soles that I wear as house slippers. One pair lasts one winter. I love them! Warm and incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, these ones are no longer available for sale. But I still have two pair of them.
Dreamcatchers
A part of someone's culture is no longer popular?! Lemme guess...next our well educated, professional BP editor's are gonna say that dreaded hair has gone outta style? Or maybe Muslim women's head scarfs are soooo outdated? BP, do better!
Ah, the fashionably outraged are on the prowl. This is one trend I will be happy to see die, searching the internet for things to pretend to be outraged by.
Load More Replies...The Pouf
Do you know what a pouf is in French ? It can be wether : - an ottoman - a slur word for girl/woman lacking altogether class, manners, sense of fashion, likeability. Someone you don´t want to befriend / share space with. Probably the meanest thing a girl could say about another girl, cause saying it aloud to someone face would start a fight.
Right? I've only heard such being a slur. Another bit of "stellar" writing and understanding of basic knowledge win for our BP editors. Woop woop!
Load More Replies...Ankle Socks
I only have ankle socks, and it won't change. Everyone should wear what's comfortable for them.
I effing hate ankle socks. I always have. I much prefer halfway-up-the-calf-length crazy-socks with weird or funny things on them (like unicorns!) Ankle socks have been around since *before* the Millennials era, though XD
Huh? Ankle socks are the ones that come up over your ankle in the UK. Those in the picture are trainer socks to us. I don't like trainer socks because they start off on the whole of your foot and then slowly sag down until they're just about clinging into your toes. Major gibble feeling when out walking.
What socks are people using today then? Regular socks looks ugly but are useful in winter. Long socks are sexy but they never stay up. Ancle socks can hide from sight when wearing shoes and doesnt strangle leg.
They hide bc they have slipped down half way and are rubbing the back of your heel raw with every step
Load More Replies...The Side Part
The way someone allows their hair to lie can become outdated?! Stfu, BP "writers".
BP didn’t invent this. There was a big spate of Gen Zers ragging on millennials for side parts. Millennials basically told Z to get stuffed.
Load More Replies...Part placement is 100% where your hair grows and your face shape. I have an oblong face— why should I look like a horse just because someone says a flattering part is “out”
Young generation hates it, because it's 'old generation', until their next generations hates their style, because it's 'old generation'. Like for hundreds of years 🤷♀️
Load More Replies...I have a cowlick on the right side of where my bangs would be if I wore them. So it has always been a side-part for me.
Just wear your hair how it suits you. Side Parts are not out of fashion and will never become. It‘s about how you style the rest of the hair.
I find this weird. Hairdressers always ask where your hair naturally parts. Sometimes it's off to the side and that should be okay no matter the date.
Headbands
My hair lately has resisted being put up. However, when it's down, it gets in my face. A headband keeps it out of my face but still down. And for the record, I don't care what anyone else thinks. I wear what I wear for a reason.
The Laugh-Cry Emoji
I refuse to care which stupid cartoons are 'trendy' to use. I can communicate just fine with words thanks, I don't need to add a string of silly pictures after every communication, let alone worry about whether their current popularity. The sooner emojis die out the better for me.
Ipods
I wish they would come back. I use my iPod Touch 5 for my dance class, but it's getting on in years. A good simple but new iPod like the Touch would be awesome.
I love to listen to music without draining the battery of my phone. If they made a comeback I’ll be in line buying one. I wish mine was still working.
DRM hardware for DRM software for DRM music. Needing DRM software on the host machine to load and setup.
The French Tuck
I'm doomed. French millenial with my blouse half tuck in my regular jeans (not skinny today) right now.
Boomerangs
......what's boomerangs? Im assuming its not the throwing tool they are referencing.
It's a tiny video that plays forward then immediately in reverse. Eg lifting glass to clink cheers, then seeing it in reverse. Normally only a few seconds.
Load More Replies...Thank you for the smile. How do you call a dog without legs? You don't call it you go and take it.
Load More Replies...It’s like a GIF, but plays the short video forward and backwards. Was a thing on Instagram for a few months.
Vine vs. TikTok
What a terrible article. First, am sooo tired of defining EVERYTHING by generations. It's so dividing and abitrary. Second, WHAT is this list about anyway??? Many of those things have been around for a long time, so now they're trends? Says who? And third, do we really need to opinionate about ppl wearing headbands or whatever??? Sigh. OK I did not read all entries, maybe I missed something good.
Also some of these were very much linked to different areas of the world. The terminology and trends differ in that place outside of the US...the rest of the world.
Load More Replies...Another dogshìt article, brought to you by people who are incredibly out of touch with reality! 😐
