Photoshop Genius Erik Johansson Shows How His Mind-Bending Pics Are Born
Photoshop master Erik Johannsson creates optical illusions and photo manipulations so mind-bending and life-like that his digital art sometimes seems like magic. In these awesome behind-the-scenes videos, however, we get to see how he actually makes some of his creative photos
Aside from his extensive use of Photoshop, his videos show how the real and fantasy worlds blend seamlessly in his stunning pictures. For most of his surreal photos, he had to photograph different elements of the photos in real life before blending and photo editing them. Simple solutions, like a bottle or a roll of paper, transform into amazing photos right before your eyes.

Share on FacebookI think that this should silence or muffle the naysayers of " Oh, it's been PhotoShopped, a million people can do that....." That's the comment I heard once at an art exhibition of such digital artistry much like this. But then, I suppose, DaVinci had such scoffers and naysayers.
This is amazing, but I wish the video wouldn't go so fast. I would like to be able to see exactly what he's doing, what tools he uses, ect. Great job though!
Wow! That's amazing! 👀 Would love to sit and just view all the details on a big screen 😍 L ove Drifting away and the men carrying a record in Soundscape 🙂
These photographs inspire me to create something unrivalled! I think that you do your best in order to provide us with the top pictures. And besides, photo manipulation is of great interest for me, I find it very difficult in terms of photo editing. Photo restoration services are the services which also provoke my interest and I`m more than sure that on fixthephoto.com or lavalu we may find everything we need.
Absolutely brilliant on every level and in every detail. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. What an amazing talent. In total awe!
Master Mind of PhoTO MaGiC ............................ woOWWOowwwwww
Any youth today can play with Photoshop, in a matter of time they will learn all of the electronic button pushing techniques to produce aesthetic images of Salvador Dali-like surreality to escape their sad real worlds of mundane life that most non-artists choose to accept. I commend Johansson though as he is actually exercising some real artistic creative process, where many today only perform with a camera and Photoshop. Now after all your camera and Photoshop button pushing, just try and force yourself to say, make a large masterpiece oil painting (from a blank canvas.) Do you know what this process does to the brain? No TV, internet viewing, or scientific methods of observing can come close to it. Composing on a musical instrument is a close second to this. Artistic process uses and builds more healthy brain cells than any other activity known to man. *Also reference, books Art & Physics by Leonard Shlain, The Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television- Jerry Mander
Yeah, any youth today can PLAY with Photoshop, just like any youth today can PLAY with oil paintings and music instruments. This photographing and photoshopping IS art and in the creation of this the author certainly went through artistic creative processes. Stop being so conservative and technophobic and embrace the new electronic mediums. Also quit the elitist attitude about older mediums - it really makes you sound like a douchebag.
