If there's anything that we've learned from optical illusions, it's that things aren't always as they appear. We've seen many skilled artists transform simple 2D surfaces into stunning 3D illusions creating mind-blowing 3D drawings or overwhelming hyperrealistic art. However, this time we would like to introduce you to a whole new level of optical illusions.
Luca Luce is a professional makeup artist from Milan, Italy, who uses his own face as his canvas to create mind-boggling 3D makeup art. The Italian artist shows the power of makeup - he more than highlights and accentuates facial features; he distorts, confuses and redefines them - creating looks that are creepy yet captivating at the same time.

*Screeches* Its jack! Jack skellington! I have the movie sitting on my desk right now, actually, so I can confirm that THAT is better than the cover drawing!
The 40-year-old artist has been working as a TV celebrity makeup artist for more than 18 years, however, in 2014 he decided to try something new and create optical illusion makeup looks. He started by using his own hands as canvas, as they would look as if some parts were missing or were covered in creepy stuff. He then moved on to his head and face using them as canvases for his mind-boggling artwork.
His artwork includes many mind-bending optical illusion makeup looks that seem to trick and make us question: 'how did he do that'? From a very realistic extra eye, to a squeezed neck down in a very tight choker, that's just a glimpse of what this artist has to offer us. The best part of it is that he's not willing to stop!
I always knew Earth was all just in someone's head. I just didn't expect this.
Currently Luce has 252k followers on his Instagram account who are astonished and mesmerized by his artwork. Many of his 3D illusion photos instantly became viral. He receives a lot of likes and positive comments asking him to create even more masterpieces.
wait WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT !
The spider ones again! Stop freaking me out! (But seriously, good work!)
Yeah, he can do all of this. Meanwhile I can barely apply eyeliner without smearing it all over my face.
I gave up on that a looonnnngggg time ago. I feel ya!
Load More Replies...I don't (really) doubt that this guy is able to do this makeup, but without any other angle of view, this looks like photoshop. Please, provide a pic from any "wrong" angle to make us see the difference, like in those street-art-drawings where there's a 3D cliff when you look from the right point, but a stretched out, abstract version if you don't.
