No matter how many cautionary tales people read about scam sites, Chinese knockoff brands, counterfeit goods, and neglected fine print, they still get tempted by discount prices on shopping sites and race to the checkout in a fury of clicks. Though shipping mishaps do happen, especially when packages are moving internationally, it's tough to imagine how postal workers let some of these epic fails to slide.

I heard about this one somewhere - I think it was reddit. One of the people pictured found out about it, and his family thought it was hilarious. They had obviously ordered the decoration themselves, but had previously been unaware it was also sent to another customer. Apparently the penguins aren't photoshopped, it just looks weird coz they were at a penguin-watching tourist destination at night, that had bright lighting so the penguins could be clearly seen.

That first image is from Spirithoods though and they sell exactly that. Their hood and coats are just georgous. It's a shame that this image has obviously been used for false advertisement for a cheap product from China. Oh and Spirithoods only uses faux fur!!

I absolutely HATE thinkgeek! A while ago there was an article on an R2-D2 coffee press here, so I preordered one from their site for a Christmas present, back in the beginning of october. They took my money out in december, but there was no tracking, or anthing about the shipping. I called twice only to be told it would be shipping late- no apologies, no offer to make this s****y experience any better. Finally I call in FEBRUARY and made enough of a big deal for someone to look into it. Turns out my order never got fulfilled, and they don't even have that item anymore, amd I was waiting for nothing. Moral of the story- thinkgeek is a horrible site that kills dreams.

There are some real jerkasses pickers at these companies' shipping centers. Also, I really hope the people who are victims of actual scams are getting their money back. I know that willingly buying something for a ridiculously low price is sort of self-injury here, but still... A scam is a scam.

The ball in the right at #38 is actually correct. Amethyst has that color. That type of gemstone isn't transparent.
