You are totally wrong. I have one and have done endless research. Mine is not exactly like this but is a Singer, around 1900 when produced. Many sites online for people to check, spare parts also available, I have used ebay so far..

Also I don't really care because it has teeth marks from when I was young.

This one is likely considerably older than you've been told. It appears to be peddle-push, and the cabinet design is from the early 1900s. Singer changed to fold-in cabinets by around the early 30s, I believe. My son is an expert on these because he restores and sells them as a hobby (he's putting himself through grad school that way), so he has a tremendous amount of knowledge on these Singers, and has taught me a lot about them. One or two things actually stuck, I think. 😆

The one thing I learned about restoring is: be sure to only use methods used during the period it was built. You can take the value down exponentially by using modern methods on antiques. I have a late 1500s chest on chest I posted here--I had to research what was used for stains, polishes, waxes, etc. before beginning restoration, because while it's probably worth $10,000 to $20,000 as it is now (maybe more.), if I'd used modern products, it would be worth about $1,000-$2,000 if I was lucky. And your Singer is a niche item, so it will be even more impacted by using modern products. Also, on the sewing machine itself, DON'T use anything to clean it except kerosene. My son restores these as a hobby and even iso alcohol will eat the lacquer and ruin it.

Also, when I say period-appropriate methods, I mean not only the types of products you use on it to clean or polish it, but also don't use an electric sander on it, modern paint, or modern wood glues. You are better off leaving it broken in a place than to glue it with modern glue. My chest on chest has a huge, wide crack down the side of it that has been there for likely a couple hundred years. I want to fill it so bad but never will because it would ruin the character of the piece, plus you just don't do that. Lol but even I someone did, the moment they used woodfill that wasn't true to the era, they've practically ruined the thing.
