It's called 'reverse graffiti'. Believed to have begun in Brazil it is now used for advertising cleaning products in the US. Look up "reverse graffiti images". There's hundreds, some quite elaborate. The local governments hate it because it doesn't fit their technical definition of graffiti and even worse, it shows what a s****y job they do keeping stuff clean.

Can turn it back looking new again by using hydrogen peroxide (like £1 at any chemists.. sometimes even cheaper!) cover the yellowed areas in it and wrap it in cling film and place in the sun all day. brings SNES's and PS1's up like new!!!!!!! I’m a “one-man orchestra” both in life and here at Bored Panda, even though my title is a visual editor. Using a power washer is nasty work. A lot of that grime gets all over YOU. While you get soaked.
