Poor caterpillar carries the eggs around and protects the little wasps when they hatch(some odd hormones are released which confuse the larva's brain) only to be eaten later by these same little monsters. I admire the whole wasp family for their interesting biology and life but they can be truly awful and creepy sometimes.

Those aren't eggs, they're wasp cocoons. The eggs were injected into the caterpillar where the wasp larvae fed on the caterpillars insides. When they were done feeding, they exited the caterpillar and formed cocoons on the outside. It looks like most of the wasps have already emerged.

So sad for the caterpillar tho! Yet another reason to hate wasps!
