Decades ago, some of my friends and I, weekly, hired a model, so that we could do some life sketching….The drawings I’ve made have gone through a lot since, as I went through a lot in the subsequent decades…In particular, barely surviving the ravages of Super Storm Sandy.
With the following ink sketches, I forced myself to maintain a self-discipline…In that, I would not start with an overall outline of the figure…Instead, I would only concentrate on the shaded areas, with limited ink strokes…I did this with the thought that the viewer would “fill in” undefined areas.
You might note, that the strokes go from the upper left to the lower right, indicating by the free arm movement, that I’m Left-Handed……SINISTRALS UNITE!!!

Share on FacebookI love these and having produced nude drawings myself I appreciate the difficulty you imposed on yourself by not using outlines as such.
I would love to get back to doing figure sketching, if there's was only the opportunity

Load More Replies...Thanks Pi,.........Now @ 81, I'm not as neat as I was when I did those sketches
Load More Replies...These are wonderful Roger. I am glad they survived the terrible storm.
