Supplies
Transform a basic white hoodie into a DIY Spider Gwen Hoodie with a no sew technique that will test your ironing and drawing skills!
Supplies:
White Hoodie
Pink and black Fabric
Light Blue Puffy Fabric Paint
Chalk or water erase pen
Scissors
Heat n Bond and iron or hot glue
To create the Spider Gwen hoodie, first cover the inside of the hood with pink fabric. To do this, unzip the hoodie and turn it inside out. Fold the fabric with the fold at the top and use chalk to trace the outline of this hood shape.
Adhere it over the hood with the fold at the top of the hood.
Cut black fabric in the shape shown for the front of the hoodie.
Cut the slits where the pockets are then adhere onto the hoodie.
Cut the shape shown out of pink fabric for the sleeves. Tip: it’s easiest to do this by folding it in half lengthwise and creating the shape. Make two of these shapes, one for each sleeve.
Adhere these shapes onto the sleeves of the hood, as shown. They will each wrap around to the back of the sleeve as well.
To create the shape for the back of the hoodie, fold a black piece of fabric in half width wise and draw the shape shown.
Unfold the shape and adhere to the back of the hoodie.
Next, you’ll use light blue puffy fabric paint to draw a spiderweb pattern on all the pink fabric pieces of the hoodie. Start with the hood shape itself. Fold it inside out so you can see the full pink hood. Place this on a helmet or something to help keep it’s “head” shape. Find the center point and draw lines going out from this center point.
Draw curved lines from each straight line to the next going around in a circular pattern to draw the spiderweb pattern. Allow to set and dry at least 4 hours (though more is better!)
Fold out the arms to expose the pink fabric part of the sleeves. Draw straight lines going outward and follow up with the same curved line design to create more spiderweb patterns.
Allow this to set and dry again.
Flip the hoodie over and complete the same spiderweb design on the other side of the pink sleeves.
Once it’s all dry, you’re ready to be transformed into Gwen Stacy of Earth-65! Pair your Spider Gwen hoodie with white gloves and black pants to complete the look!
