That's the problem, the extreme are the majority. Better yet those in government and controlling everything are awful and extremely messed up individuals. It's those who hold all the power that are really the problem. It's a bunch of the same old like minded people who take advantage of the rest of us. It's unfortunate to say but that will never change.

I went to Chernobyl in 2016, it was amazing to see so much old Russian propaganda in Pripyat. The locals had a lot of crazy stories.

Can definitely recommend The Chernobyl Diaries on Neflix, it does have some fairly distressing scenes but it was incredibly eye opening. I had no idea so many eye witness videos and interviews existed!

Ironically, I watched it again...a month ago.

I've watched a couple of videos over the past couple of years about Chernobyl and they've been very interesting. I can remember it happening, I was only 6 at the time but I remember kids coming over here from there and I just felt so sad for them. That will never leave me!

Might be a translation error too. We say "die Ukraine" in German.

I'm guessing at this but as one who grew up in the cold war, we saw Russia as the USSR, and "the Ukraine" as part of the country. Like the "Ukraine zone" or something. When the USSR split up, I was like "wow! Where did all these little countries come from!". Not proud of that.
