People say that it’s easy to be right but even easier to be wrong. More often than not, people forget to be careful about what they say online. Quickly typing a few nonsense sentences and pressing "share" might seem like a great idea at the time, but the truth is, they might stay on the internet forever.

The online community called Aged Like Milk is here to remind you of that. As the moderators write in their description, it’s "a subreddit dedicated to all those things in media and elsewhere that didn’t stand the test of time, at all." More than 795k members are on a mission to find and document ridiculous posts that quickly turned sour.

Take a look at some of the worst takes Bored Panda has collected from this group and upvote your favorite ones. Also, if you’re hungry for more examples of how people’s opinions came back to bite them, be sure to check out Part 1 of this post right here.

This is really good. Especially when you consider Superman himself is an actual alien. Not even from this Earth, and yet, he's here to help. Hides his hero identity, trying to blend in and living a seemingly normal life.... As an immigrant, I love that concept.

There's nothing wrong with the image or how it aged, except that it's fiction. The 50's was still pre-civil rights Jim Crow era, and while things are better today they're not even close to the ideal promoted in the poster. The people who downvoted Sarah's post are almost certainly morons, but I suspect they're also racists reacting to being told they're part of a racist culture.

I see way less racism and way more politeness where I live. Be kind to all of you can. This didn't age badly. The world will always have idiots and jerks. We just need to make sure they're the extreme minority

That's the problem, the extreme are the majority. Better yet those in government and controlling everything are awful and extremely messed up individuals. It's those who hold all the power that are really the problem. It's a bunch of the same old like minded people who take advantage of the rest of us. It's unfortunate to say but that will never change.

For the life of me I cannot fathom why Influencers and TikTokkers want to visit Chernobyl like it's some fun amusement park where they can take duck-lipped selfies. I'm so sick of these entitled Influencers treating sites that are linked to extreme tragedies like backgrounds for their Instagram.

And just today the Ukrainians managed to put out the fire at their largest nuclear power plant that was being shelled by the Russians. They were trying to knock out the power grid but considering the Moscow is almost directly downwind of it, it wasn't the smartest move.

I was actually taught this game using only a pencil and paper when a child of 10 or so. We each drew up a grid and marked our battleships etc into the grid. Then, on another piece of paper, we drew another grid and by guesswork and asking the opponent , plotted his / her battleships on this grid. The one who guessed them all won. Who said girls couldn’t play

According to Know Your Meme, "aged like milk" is a catchphrase that mainly describes social media posts that have grown increasingly troublesome since their inception. When people throw their opinions left and right, some of them are bound to be wrong. Well, they might look fine at the time, but time truly shows which beliefs aged poorly by completely breaking modern social norms.

While the origin of the phrase is unknown, the earliest usage comes from a 2006 comedy special Jeff Dunham: Arguing with Myself. A puppet called Walter said "She's aging like milk!" in one part of the dialog. Since then, the clip received more than 4.2M views on YouTube and quickly spread to other platforms, forums, and threads.

Yup--I'm a programmer. Do I do math in my work? Almost never--what I need to know for my job is **how** to do it. I have to understand what I'm ordering the computer to do (which in practice amounts to everything I learned in school before calculus), but I almost never actually have to do more than addition. (Although I do have to be comfortable working in hexadecimal--something I never learned in school.)

This is a really good point. The article was published in 2000, the data from the studies they cited probably at least 2 years old and that was the time where high speed internet was just starting to become available. We only got "cable" internet in about 1998 and it made a huge difference in how often we used it. There was also much less available on the internet. We still used Encarta to look up facts then

In all fairness, if you were invested in an internet-driven company, odds are you were about to watch it go bankrupt in 3... 2... 1... At the time, tech had been wildly over-invested in, as investors failed to realize that the late-90s surge in tech spending was largely in preparation for Y2K. NASDAQ was already down 50% and would lose another 50% and take another 15 years to reach its previous highs.

Just riding a skateboard is a crime in someone's mind? As long as you ride it responsibly, in proper areas that don't endanger others, I have no problem with it.

Did you notice that you said "responsibly" and "don't endanger others"? Things have gotten better, but skateboarding has long had a reputation for kids (especially them damn hooligans!) using the roadways while ignoring traffic rules, and sidewalks without displaying the control to avoid problems with pedestrians.

I can understand that. Yet to make it a law and to force those that do ride responsible to never be able to do it because of a few folks don't do it responsible is messed up. Sure, punish the ones who get caught being reckless. Don't take that freedom those who do. Just goes to show how messed up our laws are. Our laws should be just as much about freedom as they are about consequences and punishment. You don't take away other peoples liberty because of bad seeds. That is the opposite of freedom and liberty setting up laws like that.

How was skateboarding a crime to begin with? I am not that familiar with culture of 80s and I don't remember people in the 90s hating skating, there are plenty of skate parks where people go to skate.

If you ever felt slightly embarrassed about something you shared online, don’t worry. After all, social media is the place for us to vent about politics, culture, sports, our personal lives, and more, so you’re definitely not the only person to ever have a bad take. In fact, more than half of Americans (57 percent) say they have social media regrets. One in six routinely rue their decision to post at least once a week, with Millennials being the most regular offenders.

That movie was a nightmare. She had to endure painful breast binding to hide her adult figure, the actor who played the scarecrow was left with permanent skin and organ damage from the glue used in his make-up, the actor who played the Tin Man was hospitalized by a reaction to his face paint.

Nope. It was aluminum powder. The original Tin Man was Buddy Ebsen, who had an allergic reaction to it that forced him to drop out. Jack Haley, who replaced Ebsen, didn't have a problem.

The original Tin Man Buddy Ebsen (a.k.a Jed Clampett of the Beverly Hillbillies) was cast in the role of the Tin Woodman, a.k.a. the Tin Man, but he was essentially poisoned by the makeup, which was made of pure aluminum dust. Nine days after filming started he was hospitalized, sitting under an oxygen tent.

I was one of the Thousands of programmers in 1999, all over the world, that worked our fingers to the bone preparing the Cobol-and-Assembler programs that forty years of our peers had put together with two-digit years. The problem was spotted in December 1998, and we Fixed It in Time!. Very few problems, and we sweated that there weren't worse problems. It was an historical event, not a 'dud'. P.S. Yer welcome!

Much like the covidiots since the current pandemic that say "oh Covid isn't as lethal as the Spanish Flu or the Plague. Those killed many more millions. This is nothing to worry about", completely ignore the facts that there were no vaccines, and for the deadliest waves of plague no widespread understanding of transmission vectors, and we have done everything we can to PREVENT deaths by promoting hand and surface hygiene, masks, distancing, isolation etc etc. I know this will likely get downvoted but the fact there was so much done behind the scenes for Y2K is why there was not the Halloween Simpsons style scenario, and similarly with the measures in place now. Why on earth, if you know you can prevent something, would you let it run unchecked? The same idiots would then be bleating that "nothing was done" to stop the situation. Thank you to all those that did their thing back then and doing their thing now to make the situations less horrendous. Some people appreciate your work

These numbers come from YouGov Omnibus' survey where they asked U.S. citizens about posting or texting something they regret. Many people admitted they were less anxious about sounding silly compared to a few years back. However, they are more worried about damaging their reputation at work — 22 percent said they are concerned that a questionable post might affect their career.

Results also showed that 14 percent of participants feared they may hurt relationships with family members or partners by sharing misguided images or messages. Plus, women were slightly more likely to feel troubled about social media blunders damaging their close relationships than men.

It's because of the popularity of westerns at the time. Between 1930-1954, approximately 2700 westerns were made and many only had one plot - killing the natives. Horrific to think that was so normalised.

As a person with Indigenous blood - as a human being - I find this utterly offensive. "Hey, little Susie and Tommy - we just killed your father, raped your mother, and gave your siblings smallpox! Now we;'re going to desecrate the graves of you grandparents! Woo hoo! What a great day!"

Grew up in Michigan. We didn't play cowboys and Indians, we just played indians. I never really aspired to societal ideals of manhood through sports and success, ect. I just wanted to live in the forest, utilize the resources around me, and not be part of what we call "society". Real men don't need a support group, but a good dog is a bonus.

Why are we so blind to the homeless and hungry and working the butts off for no pay, no medical help for a select few entitled idiots who had to do nothing more but be born into wealth. Great doesn't mean we have bigger weapons or d***s. It about just how much you stand for. And Washington and it's bevy of people we voted in because they lied better has got to be about us. No, it's not. Ret**rded was simply a medical term to describe a condition. People started using it as an insult and so we stopped using the word for it's intended purpose. The word "autistic" might go that way, also, because kids are now using it as an insult. "Negro" was not a pejorative or racist term. (And makes more sense than "black".)

Interesting, no articles about girlies or homos. I grew up through the 60s and 70s in Europe and Britain, and I hated the TV of the time even back then because of the sexism, racism, homophobia, etc. And I don't really think we've come much further, apart from making an issue of anything vaguely offensive to anyone, there is no longer space in our world for any kind of humour.

This is me and I don't think I'm obese. I would love to lose some weight, yes, but I do not see myself as grossly overweight. I'm big, yes, but I'm still agile and I have endurance - enough to keep a physically demanding job. It is all about acceptance and being comfortable with your body, but I think the definition of obesity has to change, too.

Check HAES (healthy at every size) and. FA (fat acceptance). They started with body positivity, but are now spreading message that 300+ lb is normal, healthy and that there are no physical issues from obesity. That diabetes, kneepains, fatty liver or heart conditions have nothing to do with obesity. They say it's conspiracy from doctors and diet culture.

I'll admit I was wrong about it. I thought it wouldn't be that bad. After all, the WHO panicked about SARS, MERS, Swine flu, you name it, none of those turned out to be as bad as they claimed. It wasn't untill I saw footage from Italian hospitals in late februari 2020 that I realised this was seriously bad. Oh, I was wrong about the vaccine, too. I had my doubts, not about its safety, but its effectiveness. It wasn't until I saw the rapid drop in infection rates in the UK after their mass vaccination programme that I decided I'd get vaccinated too. The moral of the story: don't listen to me when it comes to newly emerging illnesses.

ISID/IJID was out there yelling as loud as it could about 12-18months before the last big Ebola outbreak, when they were getting the reports from members on the ground seeing the numbers growing, and it was ignored by those with the ability and influence to act early. As usual Ebola outbreaks written off as "just an Africa problem" that could be easily contained. Except this time, when those going to help over there suddenly brought it back with them and oh dear not an Africa problem anymore, it became An Issue and there was money and resources and "we are in this together". Until it seemed to go away again as a worldwide potential issue and was pushed off the news cycle. Some countries only just managed to declare Ebola contained when Covid kicked off for them. The vaccine left sitting on the shelf because could not get funding. Finally now with covax showing that the accepted mantra of "it takes decades to get vaccines into arms" is purely about economics and nothing to do with lives

Ok that is not funny ! Lmfao. Two years ago we got like four inches of snow . I kid you not , society had broken down after 1 day without power and water. It was getting apocalyptic out there . You were literally wondering if you could find a drink for your kids. My neighborhood broke into gangs , I was trying to pick which to join. On the third day all the snow melted and life snapped back to normal so fast. I was shocked as I came running out my front door with my spear , dressed in the skins of the squirrels we ate the night before .

Well, Putin recently declared that the invasion in Ukraine is to clear out the nazis... so I guess it's not 1939, it's 2022 with Putin's face instead of Stalin. Maybe Stalin is his hero and he will meet him soon and stop this nonsense!

thought this was before those two dictators made a treaty to divide up Poland, and give Lithuania and Latvia to Stalin. Remember until the day Germany attacked the USSR, they were allies, with the USSR sending supplies to Germany and the Soviet PR machine working pro-German propaganda in the US.

It's quite true that one of the models of climate change includes cooler temperatures in some parts of the earth. This is due to melting ice affecting water temperature. This has been discussed since the 80s at least, and is not controversial.

Indeed, global warming is set to make the UK colder as we lose the warming effect of the gulf stream. We may end up with winters nearly as cold as Moscow and Toronto, which are on the same latitude.

Global warming doesn't mean the whole world is hotter, but that more energy propels the atmosphere. Stormier storms, colder winters, hotter summers, higher floods, yada yada. Hang on to your mukluks, kids.

Lea, Britney was under what is called a conservatorship. A conservatorship is where the court appoints someone, in this case Britney's father, to manage the financial and personal affairs of either a minor or incapacitated person. Britney said her life was a nightmare under her father's conservatorship. She had no freedom, no control over her money, no control over her music, and was made to work 24/7. She had a song called "slave for you". So what this post is saying is that she was really a slave for her father all these years.

In 2008 she was placed, illegally, under a probate conservatorship of her person and estate, her father (with whom she didn't even have a good relationship to begin with) gaining all control over her fortune, medical decisions, basically any personal decision. She was deemed unable to control her own life or make basic choices, yet she was forced to perform and work for him for over a decade, always under the threat of losing visitation rights with her kids, or her own freedom (aka, being sent to an institution). She was finally freed last year, but for 13 years she didn't see a dime of all the money she made during the conservatorship or before, not to mention the reported amount of her fortune doesn't add up with the estimated earnings she should've done all these years

tbh she has several songs that kind of became true in a sense, at least by their title, not only I'm a Slave 4 U but "You Drive Me Crazy", "Overprotected", "Toxic", "Me Against the Music" and if we go by lyrics, then there's Lucky, Mona Lisa, but thankfully she also has other more uplifting songs like Stronger or Lonely

For reference, in the 1960's it was considered an admirable goal to be super thin. I don't think anorexia was very well known, however THE fashion icon was Twiggy, who was naturally super skinny. Having an eating disorder was "dieting" and was a worthy goal for young women. My mother was one of those affected (very anorexic and considered very pretty) which then set the standard for me, as it did for many young women. Luckily it was known and help was available for me but back then it was a very different, and very sad, perspective. More info on Twiggy for those who don't know: https://www.ranker.com/list/twiggy-1960s-fashion/erin-mccann

In reality, response to the virus and vaccine had nothing to do with being liberal or conservative. Plenty of governments, both left and right wing, handled the pandemic admirably. And plenty of governments, both left and right wing, screwed it up. Only in the USA did one side of the spectrum decide to politicize it and label every preventive measure as being somehow 'left wing'.

It's Cosmo Kramer (actor Michael Richards) from Seinfeld (sitcom)...he was disgustingly racist in a stand up he did...most of the audience left and he was either asked to or left the stage. He said it.

Michael Richardson, who played Kramer on Seinfeld. Not sure, but this might be related to a scandal, when he ranted using racist slurs during a stand-up routine in response to a black heckler.

Michael Richard. I'm not American too. He played one of the main characters on a super popular sitcom. Google his name you'll know why.

I took me a few months to realize that all the actors on Seinfeld were Jewish. Now watch the Haters attack me for being correct!
