There are many ways how one can acquire a pet cat - it can be bought from breeders, it can be adopted from a shelter, chosen from a pet store or even be inherited. But there's one more way of getting a cute cat, and it's when the feline chooses you himself.
Now, we all know that cats follow their funny cat-logic of doing things, and more than often that includes picking their masters (or servants) to their liking. Some charm their way into adoption through gentle purring and the disarming power of the Puss in Boots stare. Others... well, trespass and claim your pillow as their new bed.
So, if you'll ever hear loud meowing noises at around 4 in the morning or be woken up from slumber by crashing sounds - congratulations, you now have a cat! Some even more obscure ways of the felines choosing their masters might include crazy cats jumping in a car through an open window, persistently following you on the street pretending to be a lost cat or even declaring your porch as the safest place for them to have their cute kittens.

Some years ago I woke early freezing cold, aware of a heavy weight on the bed. I pulled the duvet back on me only to hear a growling noise. The very dominant cat from 2 doors down had got into my house and into my bed and pulled it off me.

A the little bob cat, hope you fed it and called wildlife preserve they are getting killed off .. B the tiny white one squeeking in the back yard needed some TLC and then the next day look for owner or find a no kill shelter.. C the Momma having kittens let her finish and then take them to a no kill shelter D any cardboard box is a cat trap simple as that and the bowls at the back door yea you own a cat Always remember Dogs have Owners Cats have Staff.. and enjoy them they can be your best friend.

I got a tuxedo cat myself, who likes to yell at me. Frequently lying about not having been fed. I notice so many of these are tuxedo cats. Is it because tuxedo cats like to yell a lot, or is it that they're so damned cute when they do? (I love white whiskers on a black background.)

Once my cat had kittens and they was only a day old. About 4am i was woken by this huge bang in the room the kittens where in. I got up and went in and saw this huge black cat in the room.. in my sleep deprived state all I could think was to say ‘who the f**k are you?’ Like it’s gonna answer me 🤷🏻♀️😂

One day my grandad (long before me) was driving home from work on the oil rigs when he found a black kitten in the back of his car. It wasn't frightened, so he fed it and took it home. The cat settled in quick, but refused to come into the house... Until Christmas day, when grandma looked up and saw him sitting on the window sill to be let in! And that was that 😂

My boyfriend came into the kitchen one evening and said there is a cat on the balcony. I looked down and Mr Moon was sitting at my feet. sure enough there was a stinking, starving scared cat on the balcony. We lived on the 17th floor.... Now we have two cats. The reason why this is actually so sad is it is likely these cats are abandoned, and seeking human companionship because they miss it. Either because their owner is never home, or moved away and left them.

Funny how many of the cats who "found" new people to live with are yellow tabby cats. Must be a thing. Here's ours. We called him Oscar.

So many people with delusions at the same place - if a cat entered your domicile, you are now a cat owner. YOU don’t have any say in it. It’s up to the cats and the distribution system - and many think it could be the same thing.

I got a tuxedo cat myself, who likes to yell at me. Frequently lying about not having been fed. I notice so many of these are tuxedo cats. Is it because tuxedo cats like to yell a lot, or is it that they're so damned cute when they do? (I love white whiskers on a black background.)

Once my cat had kittens and they was only a day old. About 4am i was woken by this huge bang in the room the kittens where in. I got up and went in and saw this huge black cat in the room.. in my sleep deprived state all I could think was to say ‘who the f**k are you?’ Like it’s gonna answer me 🤷🏻♀️😂

One day my grandad (long before me) was driving home from work on the oil rigs when he found a black kitten in the back of his car. It wasn't frightened, so he fed it and took it home. The cat settled in quick, but refused to come into the house... Until Christmas day, when grandma looked up and saw him sitting on the window sill to be let in! And that was that 😂

Funny, I want to know more about the cat in the sink. lol did he leave a window open? Super cute. One day I came home to find a stray had gotten into the house too. Roommate's kid left door open. Cat beat up on my actual cats.

My boyfriend came into the kitchen one evening and said there is a cat on the balcony. I looked down and Mr Moon was sitting at my feet. sure enough there was a stinking, starving scared cat on the balcony. We lived on the 17th floor.... Now we have two cats. CHER OWNED ME, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. WE WOULD NOT EVEN LEAVE HER ALONE MORE THAN ONE NITE. SHE DID WHAT SHE PLEASED AND RUINDE THE FURNITURE IN JUST THREE YEARS. BUT WE ARE STILL RICHER FOR HAVING HAD HER IN OUR LIVES AND WOULD NOT TRADE THIS FOR ANY NEW FURNITURE. WE MISS HER!

I believe, maybe, 1 out of 10 of these posts... If you want people to believe you "don't own a cat," you might want to change out the cat-patterned bed linens. Only crazy cat people make their beds in "Early American Cat."

My cat has been one of these cats on more than one occasion. One time our new neighbor was showering in her second story bedroom and Charlie came wandering in, sat down, and waited for her to get out to pet him.

Back when I had roommates, random cats would sometimes appear. Often nobody owned up to it, but it wasn't difficult to figure out how they got there. :-)

The reason why this is actually so sad is it is likely these cats are abandoned, and seeking human companionship because they miss it. Either because their owner is never home, or moved away and left them.

Cats really go wandering around and even have multiple owners. "Our cat" was known to visit at least 2 more houses frequently. If there is a way to get to a cozy please - they just go. There is food too? Even better.
