Owners Let Their Norwegian Forest Cat Roam Freely Outside, And He Looks Majestic (32 Pics)
In March 2018, Camilla from Norway fell head over heels in love with an 8-week-old kitten she saw online. It was a Norwegian Forest cat looking for his forever home. In the photo that captivated Camilla, the adorable cat was simply irresistible, tilting his head and staring at the woman from the screen with the biggest, most innocent eyes she had ever seen.
“I was completely sold,” Camilla told Bored Panda. “A few moments later, [there was no question about it]. I and my boyfriend Sondre were going to become cat owners. In May, we brought home the sweetest fluffy cat. He made us so happy.”
They named their majestic cat Pepper and created an Instagram account to document his kitten days.

About half a year later, the couple decided to get Pepper some company. “We could see he was bored while we were working on the weekdays. Both of us had always wanted a Bengal, and we hoped it would be a purrfect match. In October 2018, a tiny blue-eyed Bengal girl joined our family. She was 6-months-old and we named her Chili because of her spiciness, the combo with Pepper, and we both enjoy the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”

Eventually, Camilla and Sondre got a third cat. The couple drove 11 hours across the country to pick up a 14-week-old Maine Coon, and then their pack of cute cats was complete./p>
They call the big cat Limo. “(Almost) daily, we’re asked why our third kitty has a name unlike the two others,” Camilla said. “The fact is, she doesn’t! She is actually named after a hot chili pepper called Lemon Drop, Limo for short.”
Pepper immediately took on a parental role; protecting her and showing her around the house.

“Pepper is the calm and wise one, like an old soul. He’s a little stubborn (like his mom), but he has a heart of gold,” Camilla explained.
“Chili is the spicy one, a typical Bengal; very talkative, active, and smart. At home, she goes by the name FOMO – she really has the fear of missing out, following us around wherever we go. She’s always in the mood for a good play. Oh, and food. She’s always hungry.”
Limo, on the other hand, is super sweet and curious. “She greets us every day by ‘cleaning’ the windows in our hallway. She’s also very talkative, like her sister. She always appreciates a good belly rub and often drowns her toys in the water bottle. She’s also a good climber, both outside, in the woods, and in our house.”

As you’ve probably already seen, Camilla and Sondre enjoy bringing their cats into the wild and taking beautiful photos of them. “Both we and the cats love to spend time outside, in winter and summer,” the woman said. “We started walking them in a harness and with leashes from an early age so that they would be comfortable with exploring new places as grownups.”
The area surrounding the family’s home is perfect for adventures. They live by the end of a quiet street and their closest neighbor is actually a big forest. “Most of our photos are actually shot just 10-20 meters (33-66 ft) from our house.”
Last summer, Camilla and Sondre made a big decision, allowing the kitties to roam freely outside. “This is a very common practice in Norway, and the cats have lots of kitty-friends to play with in the neighborhood. Luckily, they spend more time in the forest than exploring the streets.” But the couple take additional safety measures as well. Just to keep peace of mind, they attached GPS trackers on their cats.
“The cats love freedom, and we can clearly see how happy they are after our decision.”

Liked all the photos but the picture of the cat silhouette against the moon is, to me, the essence of cat.
Just when the world seems to be getting ugly, immense beauty like these cats comes along to remind us of the majesty of life! Thanks for making my day!!
I used to have a Norwegian Forest cat!❤️❤️ He was humongous, but timid with strangers. He was a beauty too, but you do get closely acquainted with your lint roller haha. He was such a sweet cat, I miss him 😢❤️❤️
I have a Ragdoll that doesn't like being groomed and I have lint rollers in every room!

@J Peterman. You are totally correct in stating that cats kill an awful lot of birds each year, BUT: Birds are becoming increasingly rare because oh human activities on two fronts. We are destroying their natural habitat at an increasing rate and on top of it the insect populations are in free fall because of insecticides that ought to be made illegal ASAP. In comparison to us, cats do very little damage.

The third picture. He's staring at the camera, legs spread up in the air, doesn't care at all. Hilarious!
This was my NFC mix Gizzy (05/10/04 - 08/01/22), I´d adopted him at the end of October 2010 from an abusive home, his patchwork brofur Thori (* 07/30/07) is still with me, I hope for a few more years, he´s a shorthaired Maine C**n mix. 10516808_1...23cc48.jpg
I was so excited to show my cat snow for the first time. She likes cold and will never go under a blanket or near warm heater. Unfortunately no snow for us this winter :D
I promised mine to take them outside for snow ;( No snow ;((

in the third photo (don't want to be rude so you can skip if you are mature enough) but it looks like the cat is trying to show it's penis off.
That first photo made me think it's singing opera, maybe something by Wagner.
Minus the pic with the crown of flowers (which was beautiful), I thought this was Bear Gryllis in a fur coat!
These are absolutely the most gorgeous cats I have ever seen! Truly they look so happy! You are good people to take them in and give them such a good home!
There's a car similar to this by me, which I thought was a Main C**n cat.
I have a MC that looks like this! So, could be an MC, or a Norgie :)

I have followed them for some time, this is utter BS, they are responsible with their cats and the cats are always on a flexi lead. They also are photographers. So please realize this cat doesn't just "Roam freely"
Cats must be kept responsibly, just like other animals. Allowing any domesticated pet to free range is irresponsible. Particularly cats, which everyone knows kill wildlife just for fun.
Better lock up all the tigers etc too. Cats are predators- they control mice, rat population. You want those roaming around freely?
