I was about 6 when I opened my Angel Tree present and received the AUTHENTIC Crayola 256 Box Set (I knew how much it cost, something like $25) and not 1, not 2, not even 5, but 10 whole coloring books all for just me! My parents swear they thought I had won the lottery!

These are still around! Last Christmas I bought one for my husband and one for my daughter (and one for myself).

I had that! It was horrible! Only one of the markers worked, somehow the crayons didn’t work, the watercolor was garbage, the eraser just ripped up the paper, and the pencil crayons kept breaking whenever you sharpened them

apparently you were supposed to put water into the markers.

You were supposed to fill the bottom of the markers with water (I only recently learned this) but the crayons were great for one thing, melting for other projects. I tended to replace the crayons with my Crayola ones and the eraser with one that actually worked.

I was so darn jealous of my peers who did have those when I was a kid!!

I hated it and loved it.

Yes! I wasn't very artistic, but I had to have it.

I had this. Completely useless as nothing really worked the way it was supposed to, but damn what a treasure it was.

My birth father got me one of these before he passed… I still have the colored pencils from it. I also still draw. A lot.

I had the clear phone in my room, and the ringer was LOUD! I would turn off the ringer and it would still light up when it rang, so my friends could call me late at night and not wake up my parents (I had my own phone line in my room paid for by my babysitting money).
