I will never understand the attitude of "you have it, I want it, therefore I'll take it". People earn these things; one suspects such people have never thought that the rules apply to them, probably starting in school.

The YTA people are just mad they want to get away with something like this.

In many municipalities, private pools must, by law, be kept behind locked fencing. They are labeled as 'attractive nuisances' along with playground equipment such as swings, tree houses, and trampolines. Liability rests with the property owners.

Be naked more often. It's your property. With a pool in the backyard I'm sure you've got decent fences. Enjoy the nudity.

Looks like, sometime around 40 or so years ago, parents just stopped teaching their kids not to touch someone else’s stuff unless you ask nicely first—-every single time, because one yes is not blanket permission unless they (and not you) say it is—-and if they say no, it means no. Period. If they say yes, you treat their stuff like it’s made of gold. You then return it promptly and in as good shape, or better if possible, as it was when they let you borrow it. The upcoming generations need to learn this and pass it on t9 their own children, so we can avoid dealing with this kind of horseshit in the future.

I really enjoy her misspelling “neighbor” as “nabour”. I think it was a good job guessing from phonetics! It really tickles me! ☺️

It will be a nightmare if the woman or her kids are injured while in the pool......or worse, god forbid, drown. The homeowner's will be sued. Never let anyone on your property unsupervised!!!

"Let them use it because they're kids" is a horrible reason. Being a kid isn't an excuse to get away with trespassing.

I would have just thrown a toaster into the pool, that would've sorted things.

The first YTA person can't. Even. Spell.

There are big homeowner's liability insurance issues here. And, besides all the high tech precautions, a simple "No Trespassing" sign would be a good addition.

This is what I tell my students: If you want something, you ask. The majority of the time, it will be a yes. But if you do/take without asking, it's an automatic no & try again tomorrow.
