I found out about needle felting about one year ago and was instantly hooked. I create mostly people and families. Because of the abstraction of ‘no faces,’ I’m frequently asked to create families of loved ones that aren’t with us anymore to help the relatives' mourning process.

It ABSOLUTELY SHOWS in her work. Have you not looked?! There is not a white wash here. There is diversity. And yes, I believe her words express the emotions and goal she had in making at least one of these. I'm sorry, normal BPs. Negative Nancys (Nancies?) get to me sometimes. Especially when there's no explanation to back up their criticism. These are simply beautiful and do indeed have diversity.
Yes I made these as an ode to enslaved black women who had to nurse white babies at the cost of their own. Broke me to pieces.. :'(
