It is a missing child alert they have in the US. It gets broadcast everywhere to get the child back ASAP.

AMBER is a backronym for America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response.  (Meaning that they named it after Amber, but assigned the letters of her name meaning.). It fits that amber is a colour too, so it fits in with for example red alert.

I hope the child was safe and sound.

We have Amber alert in Canada, too.

It's when a child either gets kidnapped or goes missing and the entire county and state go on a manhunt to find the child or person

They created the acronym using amber because she was the abducted girl, Amber Hagerman, whose abduction and murder inspired the system in Texas.

And in Australia. Its a state-wide or nation-wide alert when a child is missing.

So the story about the alert, was a girl named Amber was kidnapped so the police put it on the road alert signs, which contained the number plate of the kidnapper, the car model and brand and the color of the car. It became a system which is still in use right now in the modern day, as a way for people to identify a kidnappers car and let the police know so they can get the child back to it's parents

When someone gets abducted

When someone kidnaps someone else, most of the times: Kids.
