Oddly, every day I happen to look at the clock at exactly 12:34. I see it every day.

When I was 10 I went to the beach with a friend and her family. She had the superstition that you hold your breath going over a bridge or through a tunnel. We rapidly expanded the superstition to include "when passing cemeteries" and a bunch of other random stuff. Eventually, her increasingly annoyed dad told us we had to hold our breath every time we saw a tree (we were traveling through the mountains of western North Carolina).

Our dads would get along swell.

We didn't have a wish attached but we always tried to hold our breath through tunnels, Mum would tell us not to do it because we would get dizzy

I would (still do) hold my breath when passing cemeteries, my mom likes to slow down to see how long I can go, I was screwed when we had to go to a graveyard for my grandpa's death, I tried, I failed, I tried again, I gave up cause it's hard to hold your breath when crying

My mom taught us someting similar, when we would pass through the tunnel when the train drives over it, we could make awish! instead of the noise we'd be focused on our wish:)
