We Recreated Famous Paintings With Our Kids And Friends

My name is Lucie Kruta and five years ago I got the idea of capturing transformations of my growing children using creative photography. I started to take my kids’ photos in the style of famous paintings.

The first painting recreation was actually a coincidence. I took a picture of my newborn daughter in her new dress and I immediately realized she looked like a girl from Eduard Manet’s painting. That was the starting point of a whole series of art recreation pictures and after five years the series became quite big. Until this day I created more than 280 classical paintings impersonations. I picked my favorite creative photos here for you.

The children really got the concept. Their poses are remarkably true to those of the original models. Well done!

I ran a birthday party like this for my daughter. Groups of girls recreated famous photos/art from a simple handout I gave them at the aquarium in Seattle- they loved it.
