The Yorkshire Museum kicked off the usual Friday's Curator's Battle with a picture of a hair bun from the burial of a Roman woman in the third or fourth century, with the hair clips still in place.

It has been engaged with online more than 220,000 times, with museums from all around the world responding with their own "treasures".

Split Head Of Vampire Of Dusseldorf

If you think this exhibit isn't creepy enough, wait till you hear his famous quote:
"After my head has been chopped off, will I be able to hear, at least for a moment, the sound of my own blood gushing from my neck? That would be the best pleasure to end all pleasures."
After his death, his head has been split to study his evil brain.

These 'Death Stockings' Were Made By Eliza Lewis In 1850

The stockings survived as Eliza suffered from dropsy (swelling of soft tissue) in her later years.
