Say what you want, but it's a well-known fact that movie sets are rather known for moments of hilarity and absurdity behind the heavy curtain (especially in Hollywood), and in the age of social media, these moments are swiftly transformed into some rather good content as well. And of course, as with any content... memes are bound to be created. These memes often capture the funny side of actors and staff working on a set which a lot of fans find amusing as they get to see the personalities behind the characters they like.

Oh, and one such treasure trove just for memes based on this topic is the Facebook group "Movie Set Memes." With thousands of members from all corners of the globe, this group has established itself as the go-to destination for the best set memes around when it comes to movies and TV shows.

For more interesting facts regarding the industry, don't forget to scroll down and check out our interview with Robertas Nevecka, who is a Lithuanian director, animator, and illustrator.

I saw Jaws. It was "okay". I blame the viewing public that he ever made it to a fourth movie. Jaws 4 box office was roughly 28 million over its cost. Minus however much goes to the movie theaters, the advertising budget, whoever else had an interest in the film and so on. But I guess "bought my mom a house" is better than talking about how the first movie had 9X more profit.

It's disgusting that actors are paid this much.

As we mentioned previously, Bored Panda reached out to Robertas Nevecka, a multifaceted Lithuanian artist, animator, and illustrator who is also known for working as an Assistant Director on various movie sets.

One of the first questions posed to Robertas was about his experiences as an Assistant Director. He replied, "Once, we had to film a real house burning down, involving a few actors, around 100 extras, firemen, a 16mm film camera, and one cow. We rehearsed extensively because everything had to work in sync, but things went wrong once the fire was lit. We were too close to withstand the inferno's heat. We had to back down, regroup, and wait until the fire subsided. However, we still managed to capture three difficult shots amidst the blazing barn flames. Working as an assistant director is like being in a constant workshop for film directing. You get up close to all the creative people on set, observe their tools and tricks in action, and analyze what worked and what didn't when you see the final movie."

"J.B. Perrette explained that the HBO branding had been dropped from the service's name so that it could be associated with its original programming as a content brand on Max, rather than having to be associated with the entirety of its library (which includes children's and family programming that was at odds with HBO having traditionally been associated with premium and adult-oriented programming)." It's not an entire rebranding of HBO, it's an emerging of a new umbrella streaming service, I guess?

LOL - '....I'm the new batman' - This is the world I wanna live in ;-)

When asked how he incorporates his artistic style into his films and graphical narratives, he confessed that he had been avoiding doing so because of his dislike for his own style. He stated, "I hired much better artists than myself to run away from my awful drawings. However, things have slightly changed now, and I have learned to accept and embrace my personal style. In fact, I'm currently working on my next animated film, titled 'Fishing Docks,' in my own unique style. Perhaps, only after completing this film, will I be able to fully answer this question. It's possible that I may fail miserably and resort to hiring more skilled artists once again."

We can assign meaning and interpretations to things without it being explicitly intended, including stuff that is just random or accidental. This is not the "gotcha" that it's meant to be.

He also shared insights into how his experience as a director and animator has influenced his illustrating work. He said, "When you aspire to be a film director, you begin hunting for stories. Every day, you make an effort to observe and document events that occur to you or your friends. Frequently, while reading a news article, you contemplate whether it could be transformed into a screenplay. The Notes app on my phone is brimming with dialogues overheard from random people on the street. This profoundly influences my illustrations, as I prioritize the narratives conveyed by the drawings rather than focusing solely on style or technique."

When asked by us, Robertas also elaborated on a project where he combined his skills as a director, animator, and illustrator - his debut short film, 'Snow Shelter'. He stated, "The film utilized the rotoscoped animation technique, which involved filming real actors and subsequently transforming them into animated characters by drawing over their footage. Throughout the production, I fulfilled multiple roles: serving as a film director during the live-action shooting, collaborating as an animator with the animation crew, and working as an illustrator with the background artist to develop the film's visual style."

Part of Hollywood’s immensely skewed priorities. Robert Downey Jr. gets $10-15M for doing very little in a Spider-Man movie, but they pay most production assistants poverty wages and work them to death. Clearly, a PA isn’t who’s going to make people spend money on your movie, but there’s no reason for someone who’s making thousands of dollars per minute to have their latte brought to them by someone can’t make rent without three roommates.

The appropriate for a condensed “readers digest” version of aspects of Reddit, primarily, then some of all other socials. They’re also a Lithuanian website ran by Lithuanians who adhere to cultural, social and legal norms of their country, specifically when it comes to idiomatic translations and censoring. Still, for English being a second language & a lot of social content being idiomatic, colloquially, vernacular, they do a damn good job. Even if their censor software doesn’t.

An Alexa 35 sells for about $8000 USD used. Just the body. A total package for a student film is about $25K. To shoot large format about $40K. Amira is their other line and it’s comparable in pricing. Just a little more. None of this includes mounts of any sort.

It's how they post directions to Basecamp, Holding, Set. It's how both Teamsters, and Crew get the final mile, or two, depending on where Locations...in all their wisdom...decide to put us.

After Ariana started going public about his... endowment...after they broke up, Pete let it go for months, but she kept going on about it, so during one of his sets he stated, "I'm not big...have you seen her?... she's TINY".

This picture looks like she went out with him as a favor for her mom because he is one of her friend's son and he needs some confidence.

Not nearly enough lens flares for that to be accurate.

You can see the people being Batman in the Snyder Version, this in incorrect. There should be just the vaguest hint of shapes hidden in shadow.

There are Directors who are known for the "look" of their movies. Sometimes that "look" is just heavy, heavy filtering.

There is a Writer's Strike in progress, plus the Director's Guild, and the Screen Actor's Guild are also talking about going out on Strike. There is no work for Film Crews, at the moment.
