Parents Get Surprised By Their Kid’s Halloween Costume Idea, And Now Everyone Is Crying
When boys try to come up with an idea for their Halloween costume, they mostly think about Batman, Spiderman, a pirate or a zombie. But not this one. And that’s probably why he had a hard time picking out an outfit this year. “We walked out of two Halloween stores empty handed, he didn’t wanna be any of the characters,” Imgur user BScribbs wrote. Eventually, her son ended up with the perfect look for the 31st of October, and his choice has left the internet in tears.
“Sunday night, I just told him to pick his favorite hero and I’d make the costume the next day. His eyes lit up and he yelled ‘Dad!'”
His father works long hours and rarely gets a day off. “He’s not a lawyer or a doctor <…>. He runs a kitchen in a restaurant and comes home greasy, stinky, and exhausted every night. He works really hard to take care of his family. But he’s damn proud of his son, and it was obvious when my son rang every door bell and shouted ‘TRICK OR TREAT – I’M MY DAD!’ to strangers all night that he’s really proud of his dad too.” The bond between this father and his son once again proves that not all superheroes wear capes.

Now see, to me, this is WAY more awesome than wealthy celebs just purchasing great costumes and throwing them on. This took creativity, thought, and heart.

I make my living as a professional entertainer. Yes it is great to have a job you can enjoy. But the reality is there is only so much room for jobs in this field. The REAL heroes are those who dedicate their lives to their families and their communities with no concern for the hype and the spotlight. In our media obsessed society it is encouraging to know that this father has a son he can be proud of, and the son has a father he can be proud of! Sniff!
