You don’t have to be best friends with your in-laws, but you have to find ways to tolerate them at min, and get along at max, as these otherwise strangers are part of the package that gets thrown in with your other half.

But this mother in law was dubbed ‘the worst people have ever seen,’ and it’s hard to imagine how anyone could find common ground with her. “I am at an absolute loss of words right now,” stated the bride-to-be and shared some screenshots of the vile chat she had with her fiance’s mother.

Turns out, the MIL decided to wear her actual wedding dress on her son’s big day, arguing ‘it’s her son’s wedding and she’s paying over half of it.’ The text was so upsetting that the bride has reached out to people online to ask for advice on handling the situation: “What do I even say here? Please help me.”

Let’s see the whole incident in detail and be sure to share your thoughts in the comments below.

So happy the hubby to be stood up for his wife to be. That sk@nk comment riled me a bit too, that's so toxic. She acts like she owns OPs fiancé, he's "her baby" 🙄. My son will always be "my baby": but not in this sick way, more that no matter how old he gets I remember the wee scrap of a thing he was way back when ^-^ I don't own him, like my parents don't own me 🤷‍♀️

The sk@nk comment followed by getting angry at OP for making her look bad "to the Facebook" is priceless. So clearly she can see that people would look at her outburst and not think well of her, but the problem isn't that she said what she said, but that other people are going to know about it. Of course, this is also someone who is too clueless to get that wearing that wedding dress is going to make her a pathetic laughing stock. No one will be thinking how great she looks, even if the dress still looks good on her. They're going to think she's unhinged and a monster-in-law. No Facebook reposts necessary. She'll do it to her own d@mn self.

Fiance is a keeper, though. I was expecting him to gaslight bride-to-be, but he was right there, ready to take mom to task.

He sounds like a good guy, he said something about an early honeymoon. "you have no power here moment" would go along the lines of 'you HAVE to get married to have a wedding, BUT you don't HAVE to have a wedding to get married. Get married in a small intimate ceremony, go on honeymoon with the extra cash. Return home and have a blowout party if you desire. Potluck or bar-b-que. If the pics are important to you, there's a way to achieve that as a compromise. When 'you have no power here' exists, the way it's handled is the true outcome. Laugh at the obscurity of it rather than anger --she'd have no power if you don't react to it. Laugh and see who keeps ya company. Those will be the pictures to treasure.

Here's what you do, ask both sets of parents to wear white. It will balance out the pictures and steal her thunder. If you really wanted to go radical, ask all married women and/ or men to wear white. Say it is to celebrate the institution of marriage and commitment. ORRRRR: have a tye-dye wedding where you all wear cheap white clothes and throw dye at each other. IDK, I'm just spitballing.
