What a beautiful post, kind of rare now days on BP. I wish it was an open thread and everyone can contribute there own experience. I am sure this amazing little BP family has loads of heart-warming stories.

poor boys and men! it shouldn't be special to have such moments with your closest people-it should be normal! As a female I have held my friends hands in the sunset, cried for hours while they fed me chocolate and showered me with hugs and kisses, fallen asleep while holding hands, told them that I love them and that they are my extended family and my second home. I don't think that having tits is giving me a special ability to enjoy these moments - somehow a part of society still seems to think so. And I hope to soon live in a world where that sad guy in the metro knows that he will be getting a hug from his buddies that will make him feel so loved that he realizes that his current problems are not so bad after all.

Remember once on way back from a night out we found this lad (about 18/19) who’d been mugged and had a bit of a kicking. We asked him if he was OK and he burst into tears, ended up hugging him telling him he’s safe and all that until his mates arrived. Then he had to stop crying…. Tsk.

These kind of posts are so important to share! We live in a society where any "romantic behavior between men" is considered "gay". In fact I'm willing to bet some guy who is not comfortable with his sexuality read this and called them gay as proof how many "men" are uncomfortable with their sexuality. My husband adores me, but he isn't afraid to hug his friends or even kiss them on the cheek. He's not gay, but he's just not afraid of the stigmas a patriarchal society has created. TBH I question the men who automatically are quick to call another man gay for doing something even slightly feminine.

I don't think any relationship can top a bromance. Those things last forever!

My husband complains about this sort of thing all the time, about how isolating it can be to be male and not have physical interactions with your best friends due to a mix of toxic masculinity and homophobia. It really sucks when you are a young male who can't get that sort of emotional support from your best friends. Sometimes you just need physical contact.

I think these stories are just too wonderful to express in words! I never knew men were even capable of such deep and loving friendships. Maybe know I can understand some of what they call The Bro Code. Thanks for sharing guys!

THIS. Men being kind to each other, being true friends, this is a wonderful, incredibly valuable thing and we need WAY more of this.
