Double exposure photography goes back to the invention of the art form known as photography. Double exposing your film meant that the film did not advance to the next frame before you took your next shot. Many saw this as an opportunity and embraced this unique form of art. The term is closely associated with film photography but can easily be mimicked through digital means. I've gone ahead and gotten this started with a few of my own.
