Someone Notices First Steps On The Moon Don’t Match Neil Armstrong’s Boots, Gets Destroyed With Facts

It was one small step for a man and one giant leap for mankind. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong put his left foot on the Moon and created the first human footprint there. But a new Moon landing conspiracy theory has emerged, suggesting that he didn’t even wear the space boots required to take that step.

To support the claim, these twisted minds are comparing a photo of Neil Armstrong’s Apollo 11 spacesuit (taken in 2015 by astronomer Phil Plait at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum) with a shot from the space exploration mission itself.

While Armstrong and the other crew members did wear the Apollo/Skylab A7L suit pictured above, they had more gear. Namely, overshoes with treaded soles. And for the record, the footprint in the other photograph isn’t even Armstrong’s. According to NASA, it belongs to Buzz Aldrin.

The overshoes provided extra protection from rips, tears, and dust to the basic spacesuits. They left distinctive footprints during the Moon landing that can be seen in numerous other images from the mission. And if you’re still skeptical, go to the Moon for a closer look. NASA said that “the first footprints on the Moon will be there for a million years. There is no wind to blow them away.”

The next question we need to address is why the overshoes arent at the museum like the rest of Armstrong’s gear. You see, the Apollo 11 crew left behind about 100 items on the Moon as a weight saving measure. The list includes not only TV lenses and bodily fluids but the infamous shoes as well.

But before you scroll down to learn more about this alleged Moon conspiracy, remember that Neil Armstrong claimed the biggest accomplishment of the mission was not taking the steps but landing the lunar module. “Pilots take no special joy in walking: pilots like flying,” he said. “Pilots generally take pride in a good landing, not in getting out of the vehicle.”

so when we go and live on the moon, we won't be able to fly a kite, or have windmills, or gliders, or windchimes, or wind surf, or do that trick where you lean into the wind... I mean, why even are we going to live on the moon? we're not? oh... ok, nevermind.

You know what I can't understand? Why people choose to disbelieve the Apollo missions, of all things. I mean, sure, I can see why Roswell or Groom Lake would attract conspiracy theories, because in both cases there's a kernel of something actually covert going on. But the Apollo 11 Lunar landing? That's not only one of the most momentous, but also one of the most TRANSPARENT endeavours in human history. Everything that went on was photographed or recorded and is available to look at listen to on the NASA website. And I mean EVERYTHING. Want to see that time Neil Armstrong misjudged the focus and took a bunch of blurry pictures? It's there. Want to see 3000 pictures of similar looking rocks? They're there. Want to listen to all of the conversations that went on not only aboard the spacecraft, but also between ground controllers? Good luck with that, it's 19 000 hours. That's 2.16 YEARS worth of audio... https://archive.org/search.php?query=Apollo%2011%20MOCR%20ACR%20Collection

"...humanity's potential if we put our minds together"... Well, and if someone forks over $107 billion. Let's not forget, nowadays NASA are trying to redo the feat with Orion, having only $20.4 billion to play with, after two savage cuts to their funding, under both Obama and Trump... Originally, they had planned the first new lunar landing to happen in 2018. Now, there won't be one because the lander (Altair) got cancelled and the first circumlunar flight will take place in 2023 if we're lucky.

No real need to read the article. Anyone with a functioning brain would be rolling their eyes as soon as they saw the headline. What amazes me far more than the Moon landings themselves is the fact that we have so many seemingly normal people who can't believe we did it. I'm acquainted with an engineer who works for a top Formula One team who doesn't believe we landed on the Moon. Seriously. Go figure.

Well obviously the moon is as flat the earth. When you’re looking at a “full moon” at night, you’re pretty much pancake watching. I have it on good authority from the premier scientific genius of our times, Dr. Donald Trump (parson saint of geniuses) that 1) the moon is flat, 2) I am correct, and 3) round earthers are the fools. I quit reading when I discovered this article wasn’t about Michael Jackson moonwalking, what a waste of time. Science and logic are for f**s!

Well, in December 2018 they're planing the first landing on the unseen face of the moon (in the Von Kármán Crater, close to the Lunar South Pole) with the Chang'e 4 mission. It will be an unmanned probe and lander similar to the 2013 Chang'e 3 and will communicate with Earth through relay satellite named Queqiao which was launched successfully in May 2018. As for a manned Chinese lunar landing, the current plan is 2036, so with a suitable lander STS/Orion can still get there first, if only just...

It's not an ecosystem. There's no reason not to leave stuff behind and many reasons to do just that. There is no life nor culture to disturb. It's not ruining anyone's view. In fact... if they'd lugged it back to Earth, it likely would have actually become litter.

There is a horizontal rod projecting from the post at the top of the pole to hold the flag unfurled. The flag was disturbed as it was planted into the ground and kept this bent shape because of the lack of strong gravity on the Moon.

It's impossible to leave a footprint in any enviroment with no moisture. Imagine stepping on an absolutely dry sand with your boot. What will you get? A little round pit. There is no water/moisture in the moon. Footprints on the Moon- bull***.

Lunar Regolith is extremely fine and sharp (It's actually pretty dangerous, so it's a good thing they prepared those overboots). Plus, the gravity on the moon is around 17% of what it is on Earth and there's virtually no atmosphere. Also, there IS water on the moon in the form of water ice. On top of that, even desert sand is more rounded than Lunar Regolith (through constant tumbling around by wind), hence, it won't hold its shape if dry. Simple science, dude.

Here's the deal: no one is going to say "gosh we could spend billions feeding and helping the world instead of going to the moon" It's a shame we dropped the ball on space travel and exploration. We could be further along in discoveries. More Hubbles further out. There is always more to learn.

so when we go and live on the moon, we won't be able to fly a kite, or have windmills, or gliders, or windchimes, or wind surf, or do that trick where you lean into the wind...

You mean the flag that is in exactly the same position in ALL the pictures because it's just hanging there? I cant believe people still believe the flag is moving... BlondGoodI...-small.gif BlondGoodIslandcanary-small.gif
