Sliced Lamps Made From Real Firewood Show The Beauty Of Simple Things
Most people use firewood to keep warm while camping or to make smores. LA-based designer Paul Foeckler of Split Grain uses it for something else… He creates beautiful wooden lamp designs.
“The project began with me taking notice of an ordinary piece of firewood and thinking it too beautiful to burn”, Foeckler wrote. He then started experimenting with different pieces of firewood and creative designs, searching for hidden beauty, and soon realized that cutting the wood into precise slices brings out the natural beauty that “would otherwise go unnoticed”. Now Foeckler sells his wood art on Etsy for people to include them in their everyday spaces. “There’s no sense in finding hidden beauty in things without people seeing them. I thought combining nature with clever design would appeal to people to include it in their everyday spaces,” Foeckler told Bored Panda.

Share on FacebookThese lamps are so unique! But what puts them over the top for me is that they're made from reclaimed wood! I LOVE a product that is sustainable! ~HR
In a world of plastic and disposable, I LOVE that he kept this theme totally back to nature. Nothing was harmed or destroyed to make this 'art'.
