I saw something totally different in this picture - the girls, covering their hair, are being scolded for playing too loud and even their bird has its beak tied shut and is not allowed to express itself, whereas the boys are offered cookies even though they broke the old lady's window with their ball. So, nothing "cute" at all here - I would like to hear the artist's interpretation on this one.

The broken glass is on the out side so the old woman broke the window by throwing the ball from the inside. Why is she luring the kids with food?

i like the symbolism behind this. both sides are going to war for what they believe in, and it shows how neither side is "evil", just strong opinions. and however they choose to express those opinions, they chose to let innocent people stay safe.
