I Found Architecture From Star Wars In Belgrade

Minimal Belgrade is my artistic series depicting some of the most prominent pieces of Belgrade’s mid-twentieth century architecture.

Often called Socialist Modernism, Soc-realism, Brutalism, Architecture of forced standard etc., the main characteristic of all these astonishing edifices is they will always look not-just futuristic, but as though they were taken from the future and brought to us.

Buzludzha - Bulgaria The Buzludzha Monument on the peak was built by the Bulgarian communist regime to commemorate the events in 1891 when the socialists led by Dimitar Blagoev assembled secretly in the area to form an organised socialist movement with the founding of the Bulgarian Social Democratic Party, a fore-runner of the Bulgarian Communist Party. The Monument was opened in 1981. No longer maintained by the Bulgarian government, it has fallen into disuse. 53cec283cb...ed6965.jpg

First, in this photographic set, there are at least 5-7 slides, that has nothing to do with Socialist modernism or brutalism, because, simply , this architecture dates from pre- WW 2 period, thus those are examples of Modernism architecture and some of them of so called New National style in former Kingdom of Yugoslavia that flourished in late twenties and through thirties of XX century... so I think it is helpful to be more accurate in this matters

In the first place it NEVER labeled them as such.... it claimed "often called". In the second place the title proclaims buildings that resembled the Star Wars .... I think YOU should be more accurate in your research.

Half of the buildings have nothing to do with "Socialist Modernism, Soc-realism, Brutalism, Architecture of forced standard etc." Some of them are examples of modern architecture between the two WW, some are post-socialist contemporary style buildings ... Anyway, an interesting collection, thank you.
