Tucked away in the foothills of Ashland, Oregon sits Shining Hand Ranch, a whimsical home that is so detailed it is fit for royalty from your favorite book.

This dream home was completely custom created by local artists and incorporates eco-friendly features. The space is heated and cooled with the use of geothermal energy with a solar heated pool. Intricate, hand-made pieces are the cornerstone of what makes this home unique. Bemis spent 1 1/2 years alone carving the Brazilian mahogany arched front door. The 8,881-square-foot property spans across 706-acres, enough room to keep your dragon on. Beautifully crafted, but just a little bit over the top. that wavy wooden floor makes my eyes go funny

I feel like they just didn't know when to stop. Some of the elements here could have been quite beautiful, but all together... it competes with itself. Your eye ends up getting thrown all over the place, there's no harmony. Like, the floors... I could have seen that working if there wasn't so much contrast there. The crazy shape of the windows competes with the dragons on the fireplace, which also compete with the shape and textures of the hearth. The staircase would have worked better without the carved animals. You can't just throw all of that together and expect it to work.

No, thank you. Its too much of a good thing, I think. Too many patterns (like the kitchen), which all by themselves are amazing, but get a bit lost because there are too many, I think.
