In every millennial's life, there is that one day and that one time that you say something to yourself or out loud and then stop for a second in awe. Whatever the sentence was, you couldn’t have imagined saying it unless, well, you’re middle-aged. Be it “I am looking forward to going to bed” or “Why is the music so loud in here?!” and then all of a sudden, the moment of realization hits and the lightbulb switches on: I am definitely ageing. And before you change your mind from getting takeout to actually going home and cooking the chicken that’s been sitting in your fridge for a few days now, take a look at the list below of the best things people have caught themselves saying that made them realize they’re slowly knocking at the middle-aged people's door.

The online community r/AskReddit, labelling themselves as “the place to ask and answer thought-provoking questions,” was a perfect platform for the user naxxfish to fire it out to the millennials: “What was the most middle-aged thing you caught yourself saying recently?” And, well, the answers were ranging from hilarious to hysterical to "I can actually totally relate." Vote for your favorite ones and let us know yours!

If you are aware of people walking, kids, animals.... yeah, that's way too fast. Nothing to do with middle-age or so.

They're listening to whatever their parents won't. Same as last generation. And the one before that.

(im gen z too) a really easy thing to fix that is to fill an old sock with uncooked rice, microwave it for about 15-20 seconds and keep that on your neck until it gets cold and do it again, i know that sounds weird, but i swear it works EVERY time.

I have to sleep on my right hand side. If I end of sleeping on my left hand side, I end up crushing my own shoulder and will be in immense pain for a couple of days.

when we were kids, we injured ourselves through honest crimes such as falling out of a tree, falling over when running, fell off our bike. Now we're adults, we sneeze too hard, stand up too fast, sleep in the wrong direction ....

Not sleeping wrong but once I was in a pub and my friend said something to me. I turned my head to look at him and pulled a muscle in my neck that caused incredible pain for weeks. Literally just turned my head!!!

That could happen at any age. Either you just slept really really badly or you might have an issue with muscle weakness or something unrelated to age.

I'm a gen-z and I slept with a kind of flat pillow and it hurt my neck for the next week and gave my a headache. I still can't sleep like I used to. (Keep in mind I'm still a teenager? Is this normal?)
