Millennials Are Pretending To Be Baby Boomers In This FB Group And Here Are 25 Hilarious Posts
Baby boomers (born between 1946 and 1964) and millennials (born between the early 1980s and early 2000s) are not on good terms with each other. To oversimply, baby boomers think that millennials are entitled brats who don't take responsibility for pretty much anything while millennials believe that baby boomers are hopelessly outdated in the modern world. The two groups are constantly taking stabs at one another, and Twitter user Anna (@manhattanna) has recently found a perfect example of this ongoing war. Turns out, there's a Facebook group where millennials are pretending to be baby boomers, making fun of the ways they use social media. Anna tweeted screenshots of the group's activity, and the pics have already accumulated over 171K likes, with many commenters saying that the impersonations are so accurate, they're hilarious.

Anna herself was born in 1998, a kind of a generation gap."I can relate to [both] millennial characteristics and generation Z," she told Bored Panda. "[Millennials] are the future, they’re stressed out, and have a unique sense of humor."
Sure enough, the millennial generation have plenty of stuff to worry about. Compared to previous generations, for example, 22 to 37-year-old millennials are delaying or foregoing marriage and have been somewhat slower in forming their own households, especially compared to the baby boomer generation. They are also more likely to be living at home with their parents and for longer stretches.
Elissa, this is mom not Bob. What did you post this here? Are you going to Aunt Cindy’s for Gina’s birthday party? I will bring the macaroni salad. Love, Mom
Most baby boomers, on the other hand, married relatively young (before the age of 25), but only two-thirds of these remain married today. In the case of many baby boomers in the workforce, they believe that time and experience are the key components that earn someone authority so that the longer a person serves an organization, the better ranking they deserve. Interestingly, they are also more likely to hold leadership positions in high paying fields such as medical or engineering. You could say that baby boomers pay credit where credit is due. For example, boomers contribute to the majority of positive feedback online as well.
"The baby boomers that end up being characterized in the group are all the stereotype of the typical baby boomer who's clueless as to how to use the internet, blames millennials for the downfall of the earth, and usually some kind of racist/sexist/homophobic," Anna explained.
She found the group through someone else’s tweet and is really glad that it has gained popularity. "I've gotten so many messages from people saying they were having a rough day/struggling lately, and that the posts on this millennials vs baby boomers group make them laugh and gave them a distraction," Anna added.
The minute baby boomers found memes was when they went home to be with the Lord
"I'll have son download that for me later" I laughed way to hard at that
Is this babyboomers vs. millenials a US thing? Frankly, I hardly understand most of the entries here. Truly understand, in the sense of not comprehending what might be referred to...
Millennial here, this is absolutely hysterical because all of our grandparents and great aunts and uncles behave EXACTLY like this on FB. I laughed almost the whole way through this because I could see someone in my family doing what I was reading on nearly every one.
Wow, reading some of these comment I amazed at how many people seem to take offence at this. It is a joke, people teasing many baby boomers ability to properly understand how to use social media and what is appropriate to say. Why do people have to get so crabby at a joke? As for being negative about 2 generations making fun of each other people saying this is new, you live under a rock, children will always complain that their elders are out of touch, and the elders will always complain that the youth have it so much easier than in their day, it was the same between the boomers and their parents, and is the same between gen X and their children. The only thing I don't get about this group is people seem to think BBs cant type or spell, the keyboard isn't something that was invented when the internet was.
As a member of neither of these generations (I'm Gen X) I don't "get" the humour. At best a couple of these made me slightly smile if I squinted at them just right.
For every Boomer hating on a Millennial and for every Millennial hating on a Boomer, there's a Gen-Xer hating both of you. Dear Eris, that entire post was beyond picayune.
Isnt it sad how we have found yet another way to categorize ourselves , we are not happy with race, religion, nationality, ethnicity and sexual orientation we now have this when you were born s**t. Why do we have to be part of a stupid tribe and hate the other guys. The generation that comes after you and before will always have a different view point to your own on music, fashion and politics but we dont have to conform to these boxes. I was born in 77 I dont care if I am gen X,Y or Z I am me, I live my way stop being tribal sheep.
"I used to be with 'it', but then they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm with isn't 'it' anymore and what's 'it' seems weird and scary. It'll happen to YOU!"
I think this kind of discussion is not very relevant. The conflict between the generations has always existed, now it is more evident because of the social media. The pseudo-conflict between boomers and millenials, tomorrow will have other protagonists, the millenials and the next generation. I believe that both should respect the posture of each group, the boomers should help the new generation to progress and the millenials should help the old generation to adapt to the new situations.
If anything, every BB I deal with spells everything out (and correctly) with punctuation. Some of these were a little funny but the awful attempts to misspell words ruined it.
Just a question: are all these U.S.boomers radical christians or why is it considered normal to mention God and praying every other sentence?
GenXer is with the millenials, confused why Boomers seem to yell random things on social media.
At one point I was in tears...OMG This is great. I'm off to find and join this group ....
As a boomer, I honestly know where the hell they dug up these MAGA, Bible thumping, ignorant, tech-challenged, let’s talk about their hemmroids, hicks. I literally don’t know any single Boomer my age who is this way. Maybe they all live in one state. Or Maybe I live in a good state! Lol. The millennials I work with are for the most part bright involved people, my only complaint are the few who don’t vote. If more of them would drag their asses to the polls, they’d be just about perfect as a generation....
My millenial daughter and my baby boomer self are roaring with laughter at this website. The boomers who are criticizing in the comments just add more hilarity. Humor is the best way for generations to come together. I have a Gen X sister and yes, they would have trouble getting it as they are far more tech savvy.
A lot of these are a bit outdated. Or as my dad used to say: 'In my generation, we had sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Now you guys have aids, viagra and muzak'. RIP dad.
As a boomer, I'm wondering where these 'stereotypical' boomers exist.
As a "Barely Boomer" (born in the last couple of years that qualify as a Boomer), I really don't find this funny -- not because I don't have a sense of humor and can't laugh at myself. I can totally do that. But because whatever the jokes are here, they only represent a small percentage of Boomers, and those are mostly the older ones. We aren't flippant about people dying, we don't scream in all caps all the time (or even part of the time), etc. We just don't. We may not go around saying "Yeet" and "Okurrr" all the time, but we're actually decent, interesting people who are enjoyable to know. Oh, and we don't go around slamming Millennials, either. (My son is a Barely Millennial, and I happen to think the "kids" in his generation, at least the ones he hangs with, are pretty awesome people.) Anyway, I'm sure now all "you young whippersnappers" will flame me for being old and crabby. Whatever. I just find it ridiculous to make fun of people. There are better ways to get laughs.
Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Both Baby Boomers. Seemed to handle technology just fine.
wow, salty boomers everywhere here. it is a JOKE! get over it. millenials get roasted all the time and now some people are creating a private (!) facebook group and share some jokes people get offended. yeah sure you "get the joke" but think "this is not funny".... sure....
I’m 48, Simpsons fan for life, love dark humour, ‘used’ to be socially hip/aware. These posts both confused and annoyed me.😐
The joke is that boomers are always posting inappropriate things as comments on other peoples posts, using Facebook as one would Google, dont know what a caps lock button is, or the difference between a comma and a period. They're also all mostly bible thumping bigots, and announce deaths in the most uneloquent ways possible. They also seem to think that Facebook posts are completely private, and only the poster can see comments (like the one asking the OP not to tell anyone that she told her that the friends son was on pills and dropped out of college). We dont see as many of these across the pond, but there are major portions of the US that live in the 1950s, per se, in their beliefs and "ethics."
After reading the comments I think we should start a similar group for gen-Xers haha
Why is it funny when someone loses a spouse or loses physical abilities? Will it be funny when you get there?
boomers invented the computers so that millenials could use it to cry and post emojis
>>>"The baby boomers that end up being characterized in the group are all the stereotype of the typical baby boomer who's clueless as to how to use the internet, blames millennials for the down fall of the earth, and usually some kind of racist/sexist/homophobic," Anna explained.<<< "What do you think?," asks BoredPanda. I think Anna's 3rd-grade English teacher is guilty of negligent intellectual homicide and should be arrested and charged accordingly.
I'm a Baby Boomer and I have a high regard for the Millenials I work with. They are amazing, hard working, caring people. I'm not perfect, but I know a lot other people aren't either. If we could ALL work together, we could save this planet.
Millenial (1988) here. We don't think boomers are merely outdated; we think they are responsible for pretty much everything wrong with the world. Tickle-down economics, ignoring/denying climate change, predatory student loan lending, unpaid internships replacing entry level jobs and other s****y employment practices... They pretty much ordered the whole menu and stuck us with the bill and the blame.
As a relatively tech-savvy boomer, I understand why they may think it's funny. However pointing and laughing at older people because they don't understand 'your' generation and the technology that has come into being is a bit mean. I can only imagine what else you find funny. Generalizations are never good when applying to a group. There are always anomalies. One size does not fit all. (Even millenials!)
i think theres a slight difference between being a "boomer" and being a f*****g idiot. im a "millenial" ( despite not acting like an entitled r****d(yes, millenials. i said it, smarten the f**k up) and my dad, whos in his 70s knows how to use more s**t on computers than i do. this post is f*****g stupid
I was born in ‘62. Calling me a Boomer is stupid. I saw the 62-70 people called “Tweeners” someplace. Far more applicable! I mean, I grew up in the 70s-80s. I’m tech savvy. These posts sound like they’re about mentally-challenged 85-year-olds! lol!
Ummm I don’t know I was born in 63, own an IPhone, know How to take selfie’s, have 450 posts on my Instagram, listened to Led Zeppelin Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Donovan Bob Marley I like the band Slightly Stupid, I like Sublime, I find it the group stereotypical ,the majority of my friends that were born in 63 and before are nothing like the people portrayed here.... they are the Woodstock generation we smoked weed , dropped acid , defined a generation ....so I don’t know, it seems like maybe they’re talking about maybe deep midwesterners I have no idea where they originated but on the West Coast and East Coast the boomers I know are nothing like who is posted on his Facebook page....
I was invited to join that group I haven’t accepted yet because I think. the content is too stereotypical...I have no idea why I was invited maybe they thought I would think it was funny.... I know how to take selfies, have a twitter account, have 450 posts on instagram....own an IPhone....am NOT a Trump supporter...and most of my friends in that age group do as well...we were the Woodstock generation...we listened to Zeppelin, Hendrix, Donavan, The Stones etc...dropped acid, smoked weed defined a generation... most People I talk to in their 30’s wish they had seen the sixties and 70’s I was born in 63...most of the posts make us sound like idiots....now don’t get me wrong I’m sure there are plenty of boomers who can’t function in today’s tech society....I just find it hysterical that the majority of the posts make us sound like a bunch of Trump supporting bumbling idiots...I also found it interesting that a lot of the posts sounded like the boomers being portrayed were red neck ..
I’m 37 so I’m on the cusp of genX and millennial (I definitely relate to the genX’ers more) and the boomer/millennial c**p is childish. Both of them suck, because we all suck. They pass blame back and forth and accomplish nothing.
Hi, BB here. I wasn’t insulted at all. I laughed because it’s true. I am on the end of the baby boomer generation. We actually know about technology because we were around when things were changing. I was a legal secretary in the 80s and went from a Selectric typewriter to having a PC on my desk. Some of the older secretaries had trouble adjusting. I loved it. But, as technology continues to grow it gets harder to keep up. And, yes, I ask my kids and grandchildren questions all the time. Also, I have very good grammar skills and that seems to be lacking in these posts. We’re not dumbasses. Or, at least most of us aren’t 😎☮️
It's funny at first. The problem is it's the same 3 or 4 jokes in every post. Gets old quick (no pun intended).
Hilarious! Im gen x. I can see both sides. Feel stuck in the middle but can’t stop laughing.
This is stupid. I was born in 1983 but I refused to be associated with millennials. Gen X, please take me in your ranks.
As a Boomer, I am indignant at the over-used blatant spelling mistakes and poor grammar. Really, a few of us know how to spell, type and form proper sentences.
Whats with all the bad grammar and spelling mistakes directed towards baby boomers? I dont get it ... Its the millenials that do that, not the baby boomers
Ha! I'm in this group. My uncle is awful and I like to channel him in there. He believes in "survival of the fittest" and "natural selection" and is racist and sexist and homophobic. He is constantly protected by people around him so whenever I get into his face, they often *physically* restrain me. And since he's an idiot on top of being heinous, arguing with him is like running into a brick wall face first. Mocking him in there is catharsis.
From a baby boo mere to all millineals (sic): Nailed it! We really are inept in your realm, aren't we?
All the people the age of baby boomers getting really defensive or finding it not funny lmaoo I love this😂😂
Most of these are just dumb, not funny. But then again Millenials killed real comedy.
Embarrassingly unfunny. Not because it's offensive to boomers ( I was born in 1974, so what am I classed as?) but rather because it's lame comedy. As people say it must be an American thing.
My aunt recently posted a get-well response to someone, in addition to her written message she added a screenshot of a funny image ... and if you looked closely you could see "funny get well picture to a friend" in the search bar at the top. I laughed, but I kind of felt bad because she's clearly trying.
I'm in this group and am really young for a millennial (22) and it's all in good fun. It is REALLY fun. We also have a group where we pretend to be boomers pretending to be millenials!
hELLO can I get a headcount for cookout ples ,, bring pie i think we still need forks thanks karen BLESS how do i click back to facebooks ?
It's rude to joke about old people? Just call them boomers: it will fix it all 😉
It’s freaking hilarious! I see this all the time from my older friends 😂
"millennials (born between the early 1980s and early 2000s)" WRONG. If you're born in the late 90s or early 2000s then you're Gen-Z, not millennial.
Hmm... hoping the Millenials think that it's equally hilarious when their own kids/grandkids roast them like this in the future...'cuz you know it'll happen "But it was funny, huh?"
As a Gen X person, at best I guess I just don't see the humor, at worst, looks like the Millenials are grasping for straws as a strike back.
Is this babyboomers vs. millenials a US thing? Frankly, I hardly understand most of the entries here. Truly understand, in the sense of not comprehending what might be referred to...
