Some of the most fascinating things in life hide behind mundanity. You’ll have to look a little closer to notice what makes them stand out, just like in the photos you’re about to see.

These snapshots come from the Mildly Interesting subreddit. All 24 million members share the same captivation over eye-catching things embedded within the humdrum of daily life. Here, people share pictures of random laser lights appearing in the night sky, square-shaped watermelons, and chia seeds sprouting from toothbrushes.

If reading that confused you, check out this list we’ve compiled to see for yourself. Scroll through and see if you find at least one that grabs your attention.

We all have tedious tasks that immediately bore us when they appear on our daily to-do list. However, as author and speaker Steve Pavlina points out, finding something interesting amidst mundanity is all about perspective.

Take your least favorite household chore. The mere thought of it likely drains your energy. But as Pavlina wrote in an article for his website, you can pair these activities with enjoyable activities, like listening to music or your favorite audiobook.

“If the standard approach is boring, reject the standard approach; otherwise, you’re being boring!” he wrote.

Life comes with dull moments, and there’s no escaping them. And if you accept such a reality, you may find something interesting in it, too. This is a perspective that writer and TV presenter Adrian Chiles follows.

In an article for The Guardian, Chiles noted how “embracing the boring” became his secret to happiness. He applies it to all facets of life, including personal and professional relationships and “affairs of the heart and wallet.”

Poor cat, they get depressed just like humans. My cat is a little bit depressed right now as I'm incredibly unwell so paramedics have been taking me to hospital quite a lot.

I had a vet send me to Costco (big box store in the U.S.) to get Prednisone for my dog, because the human grade was 1/2 the price of veterinary grade (and the exact same pills).

My mom and my dog each got prescribed Trazadone and gabapentin within 3 months of each other. They both rejected them as well. oh well, we tried.

I used human eye drops for my cat's eye infection several times. The pharmacist said I could do so. The Cat recovered after only one or two treatments.

Some veterinarians may use fluoxetine in a cat to treat obsessive-compulsive disorders, excessive grooming, itchy skin, bladder inflammation, and abnormal behaviors like hyperactivity or inappropriate urination.

Rather than going to a doctor, we would sometimes take the hog medicine from the farm. Liquid penicillin in grape or cherry flavor.

My daughter and her cat had chronic herpes infections (cold sores on human, eye irritation on cat). whenever either one started a flare up, we'd put both on the same Lutein. Well, except the dose. And only one got fish flavored.

Cat's medication is flavored. When I worked at Walgreens as an intern, I always found it fascinating that there could be flavored medication for pets. So for dogs it was bacon and liver additives and for cats it was tuna and duck. And then right next to those additives they had flavored ones for children like bubble gum and grape. LOL

Yeah, in many cases it's a matter of dose or preparation. That doesn't mean though you can give your pet human medicine! DO NOT DO THAT without actual instructions from the vet!

This happens a lot with antibiotics. A few years back one of dogs had cataracts so he had a bunch of different eye drops post surgery, and a year after his surgery I had cataracts removed and got prescribed 3 out of the 4 different eye drops meds that he was on a year before.

The big difference in the US and probably in countries with single payer systems is that insurance pays for the human meds but not the cat meds. I would find out the dosage and see if my doctor would prescribe me more and cut the tablets to the right size for the cat.

I take 10mg of Fluoxetine for just over a year now, and my life has changed for the better in every way. Anger threshold, anxiety and crazy thought of self deprecating are quiet for the first time in 35 years. Hope this helps them. Or just separate your wife and cat lol.

Call the humane society and ask if someone could foster her until you're better instead of pumping her full of needless d***s. She's depressed because she's loaded. Not necessary.

Maybe if your underemployed a*s stopped screaming at their kids through the ceilings your cat wouldn’t be on Prozac, you bootleg Amy Cooper. Leave my nieces alone. I got all the receipts on you and how do you think you really were unceremoniously let go after 20 something years at some douchebag Wall Street firm? F**k with my brother and his family one more time, Coach “G”.
