Poor cat, they get depressed just like humans. My cat is a little bit depressed right now as I'm incredibly unwell so paramedics have been taking me to hospital quite a lot.

The only difference between a lot of animal medications and humans is the exorbitant price difference.

I used human eye drops for my cat's eye infection several times. The pharmacist said I could do so. The Cat recovered after only one or two treatments.

Rather than going to a doctor, we would sometimes take the hog medicine from the farm. Liquid penicillin in grape or cherry flavor.

Cat's medication is flavored. When I worked at Walgreens as an intern, I always found it fascinating that there could be flavored medication for pets. So for dogs it was bacon and liver additives and for cats it was tuna and duck. And then right next to those additives they had flavored ones for children like bubble gum and grape. LOL

My puppy was prescribed the same bubble gum flavored antibiotic I used to take as a kid. He loved it! 😋

Yeah, in many cases it's a matter of dose or preparation. That doesn't mean though you can give your pet human medicine! DO NOT DO THAT without actual instructions from the vet!

The big difference in the US and probably in countries with single payer systems is that insurance pays for the human meds but not the cat meds. I would find out the dosage and see if my doctor would prescribe me more and cut the tablets to the right size for the cat.

My dog has been on it for over a year. Otherwise ... well, you don't want to turn your back on him.

happens quite a bit, gabapentin is also used in cats and dogs, trazodone as well. there are many others.

Pet Prozac

Minimum aval.dose here is 20mg..I cut them in half

My dog and I got the same pain meds for a while; Lyrica which is a medicine for epilepsy but it also works on pain.

Same! What's weird is we have the same dosage too even though I weigh 20x more.

What are you doing to them?

Many years ago, The vet wrote a prescription for my cat, that I had to take to the pharmacy to get it filled.
