What was the most interesting thing you randomly spotted in real life that you just had to capture and share with others? It's amazing how many things surround us that are far more intriguing and maybe even weird, but we often don't pay enough attention to notice them. It may just take a particular moment to discover something that won't be visible in a couple of minutes. Sometimes it's the lighting creating unique artifacts, and from our perspective, something very ordinary suddenly looks like it's out of this world.

There are people who specialize in capturing these funny coincidences and sharing them online. Often, they are street photographers who have a keen eye for their surroundings and capture the most interesting moments. However, anyone can get lucky and come across something extraordinary. The Facebook page 'Mildly Interesting' features unique images shared by people online.

Scroll down and see if there's still something that may surprise you. If you find something mind-blowing, let us know in the comment section which image stood out the most to you.

We have a lot of these where I live, they come out in early spring, and immediately the blooms get destroyed by late frosts. EVERY year. Gutting.

Let's hope the postal worker doesn't fly an A-wing.

For this article, we got in touch with a street photographer from Greece, Anthimos Ntagkas, who specializes in capturing very unique and interesting shots of his surroundings. The whole magic of photos taken by Anthimos lies in finding little details no one else pays attention to in order to create a fresh image that's surprising for the viewer. That is why we found a correlation between the pictures featured in today’s post, which can cause an odd feeling of satisfaction while looking at them, and those taken by Ntagkas.

We asked the photographer how he approaches finding and selecting the elements on the streets that he later combines in his photographs. Ntagkas shared with us: “When I first started to take photos, I used to find a place in the streets that I liked and wait for people to come by. But this has changed. Nowadays, I don't choose the place, but I make every location work for me. I combine people with elements everywhere I am.”

A place where I once worked had an old metal first aid kit attached to the wall. there was a new more portable first aid kit in place and the old one was just left there. Someone had put a piece of paper inside the old one that said "sign and date if you looked in here." There were about a dozen signatures with dates going back almost 15 years.... yes I added my name and the date.

Since Anthimos has years of experience in street photography, we wanted him to describe a specific photograph where he successfully combined elements found on the streets to create a visually satisfying and fresh composition. We were curious about what made this composition stand out. We were told: “The photographs that I found most interesting are the ones with the juxtaposition. The connection between two different themes or even more inside one photo is very intriguing to work for. Luckily the themes in this type of photography are endless and I never lose interest in photography; that’s why I love street photography.”

Lastly, we were wondering if there are any particular themes or concepts that Anthimos Ntagkas finds work well when combining elements from the streets. The photographer told us: “Street photography is more challenging, artistic, and creative than other forms of photography and that was very appealing to me. It’s not only capturing the moment and the people in the streets but you also have to be an artistic director in order to combine people and elements from a fascinating perspective. It is very important to see the work of other street photographers, and always try to incorporate your own personal identity in your photos. Everything plays a role when trying to capture a unique moment. First of all, it is experience and persistence and sometimes it is only luck.”

“Lenticular, or lee wave, clouds form downwind of an obstacle in the path of a strong air current……..Wind blows most types of clouds across the sky, but lenticular clouds seem to stay in one place. Air moves up and over a mountain, with the lenticular cloud forming just past the mountaintop. The cloud evaporates on the downwind side, so it appears stationary even though air is moving through the cloud. Lenticular clouds are lens-shaped and often look like flying saucers.” (Link: https://scied.ucar.edu/image/lenticular-clouds )

Proof positive robots will never be able to replace retail or customer service workers. They won’t be able to handle all the whacked b******t some idiots come up with, and will be throwing themselves off the roof or in the fountain, or river, or any available body of water. Mass suicides of robots put in those jobs. Like on Day 1.

    Beeps
    Community Member
2 years ago (edited) Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

They do catch things, BUT the problem is that when they’ve already caught a fly or two (it kinda depends on the size of the plant) they don’t catch any more (as it takes them *forever* to digest the ones they already caught) BUT (and this is the *really* big BUT) they still poison the flies that land on them. Just very, very slowly. And that means that if you have a Venus Fly Trap Plant, you get the pleasure of having random flies drop dead out of mid air and fall just about anywhere, in your food, your bed, on you…. It’s really, really gross and the reason why I stopped keeping them.

Hey very cool shot of kind of a rare view...just always remember when you have indoor Venus traps when it opens back up after awhile blow a fan on it or some type of wind at it so the leftover dead bug doesn't rot in it. That will for sure kill the plant. Outdoor it happens naturally ya' know. Have fun!

Our coasts in the UK look like that nowadays- but it's not silty water - it's sewage that our (private!) water Co's are pouring into the sea, so they can keep our bill money for their shareholders. We have e-coli breeding at, at least, one beach. 84524810_g...c92a46.jpg 84524810_godrevy-1-64b4fccc92a46.jpg

It's Georgia Strait, a waterway fed by the Pacific Ocean. Vancouver Island blocks the Pacific from directly reaching the shores of Vancouver, so the Fraser River empties into the Strait. Source: i grew up in the Island, and lived in the Lower Mainland for almost 20 years. :-) I agree with you: the water is beautiful. :-) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strait_of_Georgia

I disagree and have lived along the Fraser my entire life. It's a muddy river that's for sure, but not as dirty as you think. That being said, where the glacier water meets the Fraser up in Mt robson would be even better

I work in a fast food restaurant that uses numbered table tents so we can find who the orders go to. My old location was down the street from two universities and all the bars the students hung out. I worked overnights when they came in droves. I always threw away all tables tents that had the number 69. As a full grown middle aged adult woman it only took me one time to yell out that number in a crowded dining room full of drunk and high collage kids to know I was never doing that again

There's a lot of urban myth around the origin of this correlation. Here's what the current Wikipedia page says about it, for what it's worth. As a '90s pot-smoking teenager, I always heard the police code legend. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/420_(cannabis_culture)#:~:text=The%20first%20High%20Times%20mention,Waldos%20appeared%20in%20December%201998.

I was in a hotel in Boise, ID circa 1999 and went walking to see if they had a room 420. They did, they still used actual keys. The key was in the door. Yes, I took that key. Still have it.

Not a spider web. These are called soot tags. During a fire, there is low air circulation, and as the soot from the fire starts to cool and seek an atmospheric equilibrium, the soot then floats and gathers into cooler areas. Afterward, they attach themselves to the corners of the home, like the meeting point of the wall and ceiling. When these soots come together, they create a chain that forms soot tags.

The printer is a reusable appliance. You don't include the cost of the stove when comparing the cost of making dinner versus ordering takeout unless you only use the stove once and then replace it.

the balance will not be the same. It wont last long and wont be as efficient. They are also only about $30 not $80. The cost of the printer, time spent finishing, its better cheaper to buy a new one. A home made one will get you going but its not a long term fix. It appears that the cost of the printing matter and electricity as you stated, VonBlade, is still $80 cheaper than getting one from Dyson. The 3d printer will pay for itself in the long run. :)

This is ridiculously callous to a living creature. There's no such thing as a "closed" ecosystem which can be self sustaining forever. All humans have done is trapped these creatures in a glass cage while we watch them die a slow death for our own amusement. Of all the ways of killing animals I've seen, this one may just p**s me off the most because not only did some company decide they wanted to profit from suffering, but non-suspecting customers were duped into paying for this abomination too!
