Michael Jackson’s Mother Dragged To Court By Late King Of Pop’s Son Bigi Over Her Legal Bills
Michael Jackson’s youngest son, Bigi Jackson, formerly known as Blanket, took an unexpected step and filed a lawsuit against his own grandmother.
The 22-year-old is seeking to prevent Katherine Jackson from utilizing funds from the late pop icon’s estate to finance her ongoing legal dispute.
The world-renowned singer’s youngest child, Bigi, was born through surrogacy in 2002, becoming the younger sibling to Prince and Paris, born to Michael’s ex-wife, Debbie Rowe.

According to a TMZ report, Bigi initially joined forces with his 93-year-old grandmother against the executors of Michael’s estate. However, he altered his course following the court’s decision to allow the executors to use the Thriller singer’s money for an undisclosed business deal.
Katherine is appealing the court’s decision that sided with the executors, but she no longer has Bigi’s support. Bigi reportedly believes his grandmother is likely to lose the legal battle; hence, he has filed to block his grandmother from using the late King of Pop’s estate money to fund her legal bills.

Bigi stated that the “fees claimed for legal services for an appeal do not benefit the Estate and should not be granted,” according to court documents filed this week in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
“Bigi did not appeal the Court’s ruling,” the document went on to say. “It was apparent that the Court was acting within its discretionary powers … the chances of a reversal on appeal were quite slim and Bigi did not wish to incur further expense in pursuing an appeal.”
After stating that Katherine had decided to pursue an appeal, Bigi said in the court documents that his grandmother “now claims that she is entitled to reimbursement for all of her attorney fees and costs.”

Bigi is against having Katherine’s attorney fees for the appeal covered by the estate but said he is not opposed to the reasonable coverage of his grandmother’s attorney fees incurred during the initial petition against the executors over the business transaction that sparked the chain of events.
“On the one hand, the proposed transaction was complicated and required a lot of time to analyze and present to the Court,” the court document said. “On the other hand, it is questionable that four lawyers charging fees of $850 to $1,400 per hour was necessary to perform that work.”
