The UK’s Messiest Bedrooms Of 2020 Have Just Been Revealed And They’re Leaving Some People In Shock And Disgust
Have you ever looked around your bedroom, realized how unbelievably messy it got, and thought to yourself: "Man, why am I like this?" If your answer is yes, well, these 16 photos might help you feel a tiny bit better about yourself.
The company called Bed SOS held a photo competition with a goal to find the messiest bedroom in the United Kingdom. "Competition by Bed SOS to find out who in the UK has the messiest bedroom. The winner will receive a free bed worth up to £400," Bed SOS wrote in the post announcing the competition. Apparently, the company received over 300 entries from across the country. Of course, the quarantine might have something to do with it.
The winners of the competition have just been announced, and let us tell you, the photos are not disappointing at all. So, without further ado, Bored Panda invites you to look inside the UK's messiest bedrooms of the year 2020.

"Claire from Farnham says she doesn’t dare enter her son’s bedroom. And with the mountain of rubbish, we don’t blame her."
There is NO way I would allow a room in my home to get this filthy, son or not. The roaches and other critters this attracts will NOT remain only in his room! God have mercy on his future wife! Gross.
Claire from Farnham should pay better attention to her son's mental health
Though a messy room can be a sign of poor mental health, it does not equate poor mental health.
Load More Replies...I am sorry, but the parents have a responsibility to teach their kids some minimal skills. My sons have been cleaning and tidying up their rooms since they were 1 y.o. Yes, 1 y.o. Folding their own laundry included since they turned 2 y.o. Imagine what this filthy beast can do to nature, public spaces, etc! This is just a huge parenting gap!
My mom used to make folding clothes and doing chores into a game. When we got a bit older Saturday was chore day, if you didn't finish, you didn't go out.
Load More Replies..."We received more than 300 entries from across the country, and the top prize was awarded to Sara from Northern Ireland, whose messy bedroom would give Oscar the Grouch a run for his money!"
If you look closely you can see that all of this is on a table with an open drawer.
Messy is one thing. A pile of garbage is another thing altogether
Disgusting! Your kid needs to learn to clean up after themselves. I'd toss everything in that pile OUT and teach that kid how to properly maintain their room.
That is just disgusting! How can someone sleep next to this? Do they not feel the bugs crawling all over them at night?
I thought you said pets weren't allowed, but I see you got a couple of tame rats now. What? You don't??? Bye!!
"Mollie McAllister from Northamptonshire sent in this photo of a former tenant’s bedroom. Safe to say they didn’t get their deposit back."
I would say I absolutely had that tenant but my tenant died 5 years ago. 2 full size dumpsters to clean the place
"We understand sometimes it’s hard to keep on top of tidying, especially if you’re out and about with a busy lifestyle. However some of the entrants of our recent competition really shocked us with their levels of messiness!" Bed SOS writes in their post announcing the winners. "So, we wanted to help one untidy entrant by providing them with a brand new bed to create a new look for their bedroom (and hopefully inspire them to keep it looking fresh)."
"With a carton of beer as well as a full pizza and garlic bread scattered across the floor, Havering lad Luke’s bedroom seems to double as a dining room."
Are you sure that’s a pizza and not a Petrie dish? This is where Covid goes to die
Load More Replies..."Vishal from Northampton shared this shocking image of a former tenant’s room that took 52 black bin bags to clean! With the bed being the only place free from takeaway packets, we dread to think what the room smelt like."
I have depression, my room has never looked like this!
Load More Replies..."Another pink-themed mess from John in Liverpool, at least it looks like your daughter is making use of all of her toys!"
This looks like a small child’s room - In my opinion, on many different levels this is the parents fault.
This is why toy rotation is essential. The play room should not become toy storage room...kids get overstimulated easily and will not apply themselves properly to an activity / toy with so much choice available...
Anyone remember the Friends episode "The One with The Dirty Girl"? All these rooms remind me of her apartment.
Shopping Aisles after Karen lets her crotch goblins play with all the toys:
Bed SOS also shared a few simple tips that should help people with keeping their bedroom nice and clean. "Having a messy bedroom can impact your quality of sleep, and also increase stress levels. To keep your bedroom from looking like a jumble sale, here are five easy tips for you to stick to," the post reads. The tips include eliminating the floordrobe, investing in smart storage solutions, clearing out unused items, creating a cleaning schedule and making your bed.
"Sarah from Studley exposed her teenage son’s messy bedroom by sending in a whole gallery of photos – not sure he’ll be inviting his friends round anytime soon."
Have you ever tried to tell a teenager to tidy their room?
Load More Replies...Why would you allow your kid to live in this? Why would you allow this filth in your home? The "parent" needs lessons on parenting and the kid needs a walloping!
"'This is a clean day for me!' admitted Audrey from Derbyshire when she submitted her picture. We’d hate to see her bedroom on a messy day!"
They're only j20 bottles. It's a non-alcoholic fruity drink.
Load More Replies...Audrey needs to learn "clean" and "less messy" are two different things
WOAH WOAH WOAH... WHAT WAS IN THE BOTTLES?? IS THIS A KIDS BEDROOM?
and they disgraced the toilet paper, man, a few months ago, that was like gold.
"Olivia from Manchester says that she’s 'waiting for the house to be refurbished at the moment so there’s no room for clothes', fair enough, that is quite the floor-drobe."
the cat looks not too jazzed you should see my cat in my messy room SMASH CRASH DESTROY!!!😫
The cat, a lot cleaner than its owner , sit in the only clean spot of the bed 😂
"waiting for the house to be refurbished" is a load of crap. You do NOT have to live in a room like this
if you just take half that amount of clothes and scatter them all around the house, that explains my brothers room mostly
That bed though just so high up from the ground. Bed: "Save me from this prison of dread"
"With so many lovely clothes and a dresser full of haircare products and cosmetics, it’s clear that Nicole from Manchester cares a lot about her looks. But she could do with bringing the same attitude to her bedroom…"
If that's the only bed, I wonder how she gets to it and clears it to sleep.
"'This mess only took my toddler five minutes!” says Sel from Norfolk – hopefully it will be just as quick to tidy it up!'
I think every kids bedroom looks like this, well at least until the mom or dad comes and makes them "pick up"
When you are constant in nagging about it, they become automatic in cleaning up and even start bugging you about messing their clean room :D Now my boys' rooms are the cleanest and tidiest rooms in the entire house... If only I could go back in time and bring up my husband properly as well... :D
Load More Replies...Nope it actually isn't not gross this pretty much a basic toddler the Joy of parenthood....
Load More Replies...If your child treats his things this way, it's the parent's fault. Discipline is key when raising kids
for a second I thought that kid was an extremely large American girl doll
"'I think it’s time for a little declutter!' says Anneka from Shropshire… we think so too Anneka!"
This one isn't as bad, they are just too lazy to fold their clothes...
No, they can just stay in the laundry basket then
Load More Replies...I can finally take another breath...at least no rubbish in this one
Bro, this girl (im guessing because of the bras) wants her undies out and about when someone comes over...NO THANK YOU
"Angela from Staffordshire is sick of her kids’ mess, she says ‘When they move out, we’re setting fire to the room and starting again!’"
Oh dear. If the kids are old enough to know that this is wrong, just grab a roll of bin bags and clear out their stuff. Hide it in the attic if you really can't let go of it, but it's time to teach them a lesson...and some life skills....
I'm sorry. All these posts about look at my kid's room are really ticking me off. What, if any, lessons did the parents teach about cleanliness?
The parents taught them nothing about cleanliness no thing.
Load More Replies...That would make a great fire! Lemme go get my marshmallows!
Load More Replies...Parents' fault again. It's easy to give them ultimatums, like no wifi, no meals until it's cleaned. Once you let your kids do whatever they want, they got you under their control.
Why? Why do parents allow this? The answer...they are too freaking lazy to PARENT their child. If my kid's room looked like this, he would never see the TV, a phone, a computer or any of his friends until the room was spotless.
"Grace from Bradford admits that ‘this is actually cleaner than usual!’ – we can’t even imagine what it usually looks like!"
I wish this wasn't a competition, because it looks like most of these people are going through heavy depressive episodes. They need help, not to win an award for how out of hand their depression has gotten.
THANK YOU!!!! Came here to say this! Where's the compassion. No, depression/mental illness is supposed to look like it does in the movies - all wrapped up in a neat little package.
Load More Replies...At least most of it is pre-packed, all you need now is a bin big enough.
Makes me think this person is a hoarder...if nothing else, they are disgusting
My daughter is like this, its not depression, she just doesn't care about her room or cleaning. She thinks its fine, I think its gross. She's to busy 'living her life' to clean up. This was not how she was raised or taught but she's still this way as an adult.
"Zoe from Plymouth shared her daughter and daughter’s boyfriend’s room… you might want to let them know it’s time to empty that bin, Zoe!"
If her daughter has a live in boyfriend then WHY are they in your house being oink oinks GET OUT AND GET YOUR OWN S**T!
Remove the poor animals in the cage! And the fish tank. No animal fur or scales should be subjected to this f*****g pig!
"Toni from Cheltenham shared this photo of her daughter’s room – at least most of the mess fits with the pink colour scheme."
same, all of my little sisters have more clothes individually than i do
Load More Replies...It's ok sometimes everybody has or had times where they just dumped all their toys on the ground and played with them
Load More Replies...No I wouldn't go that far it's just a little mess, yes it's on a list for the UKs messiest bedrooms but it's not that bad
Load More Replies...I guess the parents NEVER taught their kids to clean up on a regular basis. I can only imagine what the rest of the house looks like.
I thought I was messy until I saw this post, now feel sick after seeing those rooms. Thank god we can't smell them too.
Yeah, my place is not at all spartan or organized. I have stacks of books, art supplies, and unorganized shelves. I also rarely dust. ... But I never have food containers just stacked up, clothes on the floor, etc. ever.
Load More Replies...I don't understand why someone would want to compile a list like this. For one thing, it's disgusting and really not nice to look at. For another, these people obviously need help. There's nothing about this post that I would class as entertaining.
Yeah, I just felt sad this isnt really entertainment or informative
Load More Replies...This is what depression looks like to me. When you just stop trying. So sad..
No doubt some of those people are depressed and I feel bad for them... But I'm sure a significant proportion of them are just incredibly lazy and had their mums clean up after them all their life before they moved out.
Load More Replies...Please make this list into a very satisfying "Before and after cleaning up a messy room " post . Please! This is hard to look at and gives me anxiety.
For the ones where they sent in a picture of their kids room. Why do they let their room get that bad? I my mom would have heart attack if I had a room even 1/3 rd the mess of those rooms.
As a kid, I was never allowed to make messes like these. Plus, Saturday was dedicated to cleaning. No choice. Just did it or face my mom's wrath.
Load More Replies...All of these people should probably join “Unfuck your Habitat“. They have cleaning and tidying tips for mentally ill and disabled people as well as regular people who can't get on top of their mess.
