Merman Trend: Men Are Dyeing Their Hair With Incredibly Vivid Colors
Ladies aren't the only people enjoying colorful hair trends – men want to get in on the glamorous fun, too! In the new 'merman' trend, men are dyeing their hair and even their beards in bright shades of blue, green and purple to look like mysterious creatures of the deep. Or as a nod to the '80s – your choice!
What do you think about this trend – sexy or silly? Let us know in the comments, and if you're a merman, add your selfie to our list!

cool but we were doing this 30 years ago. How is this news? Guys have been doing this a long time.
Indigo is plant which leaves gives more then 100 colours on hair. These colours are stable and natural good for health and skin I use these colours on my hair. I make black colour for my hair in 40 minutes.
much like this artist's illustrations ... http://www.bluedogposters.com.au/shopexd.asp?id=14399
Enhances the eyes beautifully. I think the beards are overkill until we are used to these vivid colors at all. This is perfect <3
Love the curls. Needs to iron the shirt (add a little starch) to pull off that look.
Do they realize they're posting pics of the same guy? Again though, not complaining, love it
We did a full shoot just based on men's fashion hair colour! It looked so dope! Can't wait to et the other pictures!
this is awesome and its how my brother got his hair colored but only his head not his beard or anything
Frank Nutz! Phanks:) Nope, they're leftover party bats- made from painted black paper and blue tack;)
I was worried because I thought the kid was blowing smoke but then I figured out there was water drops on the lens lolol
I'm so glad I found this thread, all these pictures have given me some great ideas, to move on from just the solid blue in this picture. :) thanks all you guys!!!
These gentlemen are legends. The only way to be an anomaly is to act like one. Anyone saying that they aren't men, or didn't get enough attention as children are just ignorant and jealous. I mean be honest with yourself, if you feel like you have to say something negative then you probably care a bit too much. Awkward for you. On a positive note: LEGENDS.
If all it takes to be a legend these days is to tint your hair a whacky color then... my god.
Load More Replies...I'd rather know the people in this list more than the people who feel they have a right to criticise them. Pfffft basic.
The people in this list have every right to express themselves, the ones who voice their opinion also have a right to express themselves.
Load More Replies...I'm curious why online it always seems to be: Tattoos: "Sooo awesome! So Creative! Stop being such haters!!!" Something like this: "Attention whores! Gay! Man-card revoked!" Either you accept self-expression or you don't. If you don't like it, good for you. Sit down and shut up. I'm sure you have PLENTY of traits that others hate.
I feel like the look is not completed if they do not color their brows and chest hair.
Old hat. Started doing it in the 80's. Also did it in the 90's. Then 2000's in Mexico. Know scores of MEN that have done that for years. Uh....dumb-a*s article, yet again.
I did it in the 80's. In Kansas. Also did it in the 90's in LA. 2000's in Mexico City and the Caribbean. Most guys I knew did. Another dumb-a*s article.
other than the beards, this is not new. the 90's saw men with funky colored hair, i myself did it. it is funny, i was thinking about this fact one day, and that nowadays men don't color their hair in these shades anymore, only women seem to do so now, so i decided to look up men brightly colored etc. and all of this 'merman' stuff came up. i must admit, even though i'm a fan of the funky colors in the hair, the beards feel a bit much. i think i may have seen that once or twice in the 90's though, but on real left of center type guys.
Nice to see that something I was picked on for in high school is now "hot" and "trendy".
Am I the only one tired of all those -hipster/lumberjack/whatever s****y name they give to it- beards ?
I've had a Pink beard and hair for going on 3.5yrs because of a lost bet and turning it into a charity for children. This may be a "trend" for others. For me, it's making a difference.
"Merman Pops! Merman! no seriously though i love it, i love when people have vivid hair colours, it makes me feel like I'm living in a cartoon
Aquí os dejo mi visión de los Merman y la explicación de lo que son a mí manera! :-P https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK65rJDsfcg
Is here someone who knows howto color #2 and made it permanent? I will appreciate any hints & tips <3 thanks
Nice to see that something I was picked on for in High School is now considered HOT and TRENDY.
This is so stupid. More than half of these are photoshopped LOL. I can tell.
I love it, if you dont know how to dye your beard in my blog you can find a lot of information about review of products, because, dye a beard is very easy, just because is hair! but, there some products that can make you skin problems, here you can check the post, http://beardfaster.com/beard-color-dye
The only problem is 95% of them are manipulated images... If you ever tried to change colors of a photo, you know what I mean.
Why not push some ideas of colour ... They're reminiscent of my illustrative work that you can see via this link ... http://www.bluedogposters.com.au/shopdisplayproducts.asp?keyword=beard&search=beard
they look like anime characters ;) For fun it is fine, but for a long term trend... nooooo... looks to weird to me.
It's not like we know the context of these photos....
Load More Replies...looks f*****g gay looks like hunger game capitol men mixed with Frankie Grande
2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 (not only the beard), 16, 18 (wtf?) and 20 are for sure NOT REAL. There's a feature on Photoshop called 'Hue Saturation' and thats what it is. Don't trust evertyhing you see, people. :/
Hue Saturation doesn't do that. Don't trust everything you read from a critic people :/
Load More Replies...Damnit, half of them just horrible Photoshop work. Pls, use normal pics, some of them are really good, admin it
So what's your excuse for having a picture-less profile and no charisma at all? Too much love from your family? I HIGHLY doubt it.
Load More Replies...Feeling insecure in your sexuality? Awkward for you.
Load More Replies...Hmm ... actually, if you knew anything about history, you'd know that Men have been doing this kind of thing for thousands of years. Unless you want someone telling you how to dress, then don't tell other people what to do either.
