Depends on what do you call spicy or westerner. Chili is from America and Mexican food is spicy as hell! It was chili that reformed Asian cooking to what it is now.

On a stop-over in Singapore. The transfer from the airport took us past a KFC and the son, twelve or thirteen at the time, decided that he wanted KFC to eat and nothing else. It had been a long flight, I was coming down with a massive cold and we were both tired and hungry so this resulted in a Big Fight. In the street. In Singapore. We finally marched into a nearby commercial building with a food court. One of the eateries specialized in chicken and I chose one with a red sauce on it ... One bite and I was sweating profusely with tears streaming from my eyes and my nose was doing an incredibly good faucet imitation. They may very well still be dealing with a napkin shortage! After dinner, there was no trace of that cold and we had a great time seeing a bit of Singapore.

When my niece was adopted from China at age five, she brought with her a developed Chinese palate. While her sister (who is half Japanese/American) would eat pancakes with maple syrup, she insisted on eating them with Tabasco sauce!

Ha, do you know there's a mountain range covering Italy's northern border called Alps? And yes people do live there. And winter season goes from november to march with heavy snow and very often below 20 degrees.

Having grown up in Istria (a climate similar to the north of Italy, due to geographical proximity), I thought winters were cold. Then in 2010 I moved to Seoul, and then I learnt the true meaning of the word "freezing". ×_×

I lived in New England for my teens/early twenties, and moved to Arizona because I was sick of freezing. Then I met my husband (who is from Florence Italy) and we moved there for a few years... and it was there, in Florence where I learned what true extreme heat and cold can be! OMG, winds from Siberia...heat bubbles from the Sahara...and no cooling sea breeze. Great city to visit but yikes, can be horrible to live in

Asians do this everywhere. My aunt covers her entire body - gloves, hat and mask and refuses to sit in front passenger seat. She only sits in the middle of back seat to hide from the sun. Crazy woman.

This is about the whole pale = better thing in many Asian countries. Often there are products being promoted that lighten skin. And darker skin is only acceptable with western features. Meanwhile typical girls whine about being "paper white and cannot find their foundation shade" online as people die because of racism.

"Keruk" or "kerukan" is an indonesian traditional massage where your back is scratched with a coin. and if you're wondering, yes it hurts. a lot. then you feel better the next day. the scratches remain for a few days.

It's not that bad, but yeah definitely hurts at first. You apply some massage oil or balm before and use a coin with dull edges (preferably old coins) so it doesn't scratch your skin. Indonesians do this when they are feeling cold/flu symptoms. But then again this is not for everyone.

If you use a 'Thai' Deodorant Stone, you will never have this problem. I started using one in the '80s and haven't looked back ever since. Not only will you not not smell, but you will save 'oddles' of money. Just make certain you hold it tightly, because being wet, it can slip from your fingers, and crack on impact.
