We got an email from my kids school today apologizing that kids feelings were hurt because they didn't get the parts they wanted in a school play. I responded back with "I hope this is taught as a life lesson that we don't always get what we want in life. No apologies needed for our family.". The teacher responded back with "We can always count on you and your family for keeping it real and raising your kids to be future responsible adults". The dad should have handled the kid's disappointment as a lessons learned.

I don't fault the guy for not giving up his turn, but why mock the little girls tears? She was upset, as any CHILD would be in such a situation. But it doesn't look like she threw a temper tantrum or that her father was trying to bully his way into getting his daughter to the head of the line. Enjoy your ride, and don't make fun of a child.

What a Total Jerk for blasting a little girl online!!! I hope someday that someone shows his child the exact same kindness that he did to that little girl bragging online and all so he can see how it impacts a child when adults are selfish jerks. Yeah life isn't fair and kids shouldn't expect to get everything hant to them on a silver platter but showing a little Kindness could have made an impression on her life to share with others .

This is just cruel and even if he had a right it's still selfish. It's sad that modern world just praise any selfish behavior. How can you build a better place when you're like that? But even worse is the internet mocking a little girl? We really do live in a black mirror episode. Humanity deserves to extinct. And yes she most likely will remember that.

I really hate this trend of "look at how I kept what was my right to keep when someone asked if they could please have it" a la the family that wants to sit together etc. No you don't have to give it up. It's a nice thing to do but you can of course say no. But the way you say no matters and your attitude towards people who politely ask because it was possible you could say yes matters. Nothing wrong with asking and nothing wrong with being disappointed especially when you're a kid and waiting is hard for children. Why celebrate it?

Don't post children's pictures on the internet for clout. If you do you're a scumbag. Or at least blur their faces. Only exception to this rule is parents recording memories but clout chasers are vile even if it's their own parents.

Why does this need to documented on social media for all to see? Seriously dude you need validation for the decision you made? Those parents made a decision, they incorporated you into it. You made a decision. And there were events that took place based on those choices. No one got hurt or killed. Life moves on. Why post this and shame the girl and parents? Are you virtue signaling cuz you taught that girl a lesson? Do these parents possibly need to not acquiesce to everything their child asks for, probably yes. Despite the child's protest, yes. Children do need to see that there are consequences in life and life ain't always easy. I'm sure her parents are dealing with that fallout, and have lessons to learn from this. Perhaps arrive earlier and wait your fair turn too. Or sometimes in life you don't get what you want, suck it move on. But dude enjoy your ride and move on. I reallt see 2 children here who lack self-control. And 2 parents who ahould reflect on this situation and grow from it. But on their own, not for the world to see, because trust me the planet will rotate on its axis despite this incident. But dude is lame for this one, not for standing his ground for himself, but for seeking validation on social media for shaming a child. Grow up dude. You're just as mature as that little girl.

I would never have asked for my kid to get a spot that was rightfully someone else's. The dad heard that only one more person could go and he gave his child false hope by waiting anyway. I would have immediately said "whoops its too late this time, Do you want to watch him play or find something else you might like to do?" However that guy is a MASSIVE piece of s**t for posting a little kid breaking down with disappointment online without consent. It's not the kids fault! It's her dad's, and only a sicko enjoys showing people a really sad kid and then bragging that he's the cause.

Yes it was fair. As a parent through I would have let the kid ride. But that's me. Life is short and kids will learn soon enough about disappointment and heartbreak. I'm not into making them suffer unnecessarily. And I have 2 trucking driving sons, a 21 yr old lpn, a senior in high school, and a five year old. So obviously I'm doing something right, without making them experience disappointment.

As an auntie of 8, I can understand that the little girl is disappointed & upset. But, honestly? I don’t blame him for not wanting to give up his place there. She’s a young child & will have MANY more opportunities to do this sort of thing again (& in a child’s mind, they’re bound to be more exciting than this). But this guy as a fully-grown adult probably doesn’t have all the time in the world to make time for events like this, so I feel he’s entitled to that one precious moment. So, I’ll give him that, that’s fair enough. One thing bothers me a bit, though … was it really necessary to make a TikTok video of the girl & poke fun at her for crying? I can’t help feeling it’s a very childish thing to do; as he knows he got what he wanted, whilst gloatingly rubbing it in that child’s face. 🤔🤷‍♀️

Those kids look shorter than the required height anyway.

Everyone is free to choose what to do. I personally would have let the kid go, but I damned well wouldn't have posted online about making a child cry & brag about it. THAT makes the guy an AH.

It's really important for kids to learn disappointment.

Im all for not giving kids what they want always but i gyess it would depend on the situation,how bad did i want to ride the car and what was my gut feeling regarding kid and her dad.i get alot of people approaching me for money in parking lots and places and some i get the naw you a scammer vibe and some i give cause little voice says give to this person, i really trust my gut in situations like this so that is what i would go by.

This girl is too short to ride the ride. The height limit is right there. Why turn it into this whole thing about how this teaches responsibility or whatever that STILL makes him out to be the a*****e whenever she can't ride it anyway?

I was in line with my kids at the water park & these two little fat f*cks come down the slide and instantly come stand in front of us. "Um, excuse me? What do you think you're doing?" Oh, our friends were holding our spot for us. "NO - you just got off the slide. That means you go to the end of the line." One's Mom comes over and tries to get in my face - oh, b*tch, please. Your kids JUST GOT OFF THE SLIDE - they go to the back of the line. I had to have an employee come over and explain to this MORON that as soon as you get off the slide - you go to the end of the line if you want another ride. I'm hot (Phoenix) hate my bathing suit, don't want to be here in the first place and a really good fist fight would absolutely MAKE MY DAY. They went to another ride.
