Man Disappears In Brazil, Leaves Behind Locked Room With 14 Books Of Encrypted Text And A $2500 Statue
Brazilian psychology student Bruno Borges seemed fine when he left his family home to work on a ‘secretive project’ last Monday, but he hasn’t been seen since then. His concerned relatives managed to access his locked room, and what they found inside was both bizarre and disturbing.
The room was covered wall-to-wall with cryptic text and formulas, as well as several strange paintings. 14 books, reportedly written by Borges, contained an indecipherable script. Watching over it all was a tall statue of Giordano Bruno, a 16th-century Italian philosopher who was one of the first to predict the presence of extraterrestrial life, estimated to be worth around $2500 USD.
A video tour of Borges’ room, possibly taken by a police officer, has leaked to YouTube. See it for yourself below, and share your wildest theory with us in the comments.

Share on FacebookI would say marketing campaign!! But I am maybe too cynical. Otherwise, mental health issues and I hope the young man, if he exists, is found and helped.
A leaked video? Sorry, but this does not look leaked, it looks staged. Read about the Voynich manuscript for some real mystery!
That's not a leaked video (I imagine the person who posted this story wanted to add some mistery to it) - it's a TV news story. There is probably no audio there because it's a tiny tv crew from a small state in Brazil, they only sent a cameraman/trainee to make the video. This is the original article, in Portuguese: http://g1.globo.com/ac/acre/noticia/jovem-deixou-14-livros-escritos-a-mao-e-criptografados-antes-de-sumir-diz-mae.ghtml

FAR too much time put into this room for it to be a hoax! Those texts took YEARS! WTF?!?!
It's like one of those puzzle "Escape the Room" games. He's going to be hidden in that compartment they need to solve to open for a while.
I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan. But for the life of me, I cannot see any logic over all this ET-UFO stuff. I've never believed in FTL travel before, and even if it existed, just crossing this border would still take a good 4.3 years just to get to Alpha Centuri alone. Travel time is just too long to make all this practical. One would have to have a wormhole/fold-point to get from A to B in a reasonable time, and that is still highly questionable. But that would have a fixed terminal location at either end. Colour me "Not Impressed".
Put it this way. If aliens had the technology to get here, they wouldn't bother with us.
Load More Replies...I'm guessing probably Schizophrenia. I had a couple of friends who manifested the disease do something similar (one was sure that the rapture was coming, and one thought the CIA was coming). Both disappeared and were found (separately) wandering the streets, homeless.
One of those stories to advertise a film secretly being made perhaps? Looking forward to finding out either way!
Yeah it could be viral marketing! :D Or a really intriguing art piece. I hope he's ok. But yeah I get what you mean.
Load More Replies...Ok. Well, he did a good job of covering his crazy for quite awhile, by the looks of things. My guess is that he's out in the bush somewhere waiting to be picked up. If that's the case, they'll be looking for a body.
It is impossible fir me to encrypt the letters without knowing the language.
Now this things are promoted and later would be sold on auction. Simple :)
this proves that psychology students are completely bunkers .... and this is pure mumbo jumbo, even tho is kinda artistic , still mumbo jumbo
this shows you that psychology students are totally bunkers .... and this is mumbo jumbo :)
I dunno, if it's real, I will refrain from making sci-fi related jokes because a person's life is no joke, and no words can describe how much his family and friends are worried, and will stay worried as long as he's found, which means they'll forever be worried and anxious, for the rest of their lives, if he cannot be found. If this is a hoax, it's really bad taste.
That text is planetary writing. I developed secret writing also by using...
..those planetary markings. If i could understand portugese i could encrypt that writing.
Load More Replies...This guy was obviously obsessed by something. There are many riddles in history that are not solvable because the social milieau at the time is not known and cannot be known. I would say that this it is not a code. It is a language. You can see that some of the "writing" repeats, like words in sentences.
My first thought goes back to the fact that he's a psychology student- maybe this is the most brilliant senior thesis ever? Make a room full of weird alien looking s**t, "disappear" for a little while, and watch to see what chaos ensues after it's leaked to the internet? Who knows, but I hope the guy's alright!
