This Viral Malaysian Group Is Dedicated To Epic Cooking Fails And Here Are 30 Of The Worst Ones
Imagine a cooking show watched by more than 1.5 million foodies every day. Before you start picturing Michelin-like edible goodness you’d rather hang on the wall, I gotta tell you—this one couldn’t be further away. It's what Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares are made of.
The "Masak Apa Tak Jadi Hari Ni" Facebook group, which loosely translates to “What Booboo Did You Cook Today,” is dedicated to the most epic cooking fails you could think of. Since Malaysia implemented a movement control order on the 18th of March, the group has been gaining a cult-like following. More than a million people have joined the community in a week since its launch on April 14.
We selected some of the most hilarious and stomach-turning entries from the other side of the world. We’ve also added screenshots of Facebook's translation so you’ll get a better clue of what’s going on in the pics. Because trust me, it’s a lot.

The Malaysian Facebook group "Masak Apa Tak Jadi Hari Ni" (MATJHN) was born when one of the administrators realized that her usual posts weren't getting a lot of response, “prompting her to share her cooking mishaps instead as a learning process for everyone,” according to the Sun Daily.
The Facebook group now receives about 5K requests to join every 5 minutes. One member, Elda Shazreena, explained that “it’s due to the current trend as many people are trying out various recipes during the MCO.” The Malaysia Movement Control order was implemented on 18 March. From 27 March, some locations were subject to the stricter "Enhanced Movement Control Order" that forbade residents to leave their homes.
This fish is like my dog when it comes to bathing. Fish: no siry.
actually, he wants to melt the sugar into liquid form, he should pour more water, so it wont caramelised.. its easier to make jugs of drinks with melted sugar.
Load More Replies...Lots of hot water, to melt that burnt sugar. Or LOTS of scrubbing.
Load More Replies...It looks like Bendy sorta! Still a cartoon character! 😀
Goodness! I thought I'm the worst in the kitchen... This seems to boost my confidence a little haha
For those few that are surprised/disgusted, chicken feet are eaten in several different countries, Asia, Africa, Americas and possibly other places. Not all places and within a country not all regions. Some places might be a delicacy, some a different but not unusual food and some places feet are just cooked with the rest of the chicken (the case of where my mom grew up). Grandpa liked it, was his favorite, my mom liked the oil gland and liver, while my favorites were thighs, gizzards and heads (I was the weirdo for liking the head).
It looks like they're trying to escape the pizza, but the cheese is holding them back
Yeah cause otherwise you would have wasted 2 years of that pineapples life (apparently it takes 2 years for a pineapple to grow)
Load More Replies...Now you don't have to shop for a new tire when the next one blows up.
I mean this mAY just be quarantine talking, but I'd try your tire-cake haha
4 spoons of sugar? That sounds like bread, not cake. I can see why one would want to use cups instead :D.

Load More Replies...This quarantine had made daredevils of everyone. Cutting hair, trying new recipes, sewing. I think it's great that we've had the time to discover that we are not supposed to be all things to all people, including ourselves, and work on the gifts we have always possessed that makes each of us unique. Recognize and develop the certain something no one else anywhere can do quite like you.
she left the batter fermented inside the blender to go folding cloths. this was to make some kind of fluffy rice cake.

This time we're spending in quarantine has given so many the opportunity to try things they could never find time to try before. There may be mistakes made but that is true in everything we do from birth till death. Be daring, laugh at your failures and try again. You are never a failure as long as you try. This is the time to revisit who you are and who you think you need to be. It's time to discover what matters most in your life and time to be flexible and open to what others may see in themselves. So stuff May burn. It's not the end of the world. If it continues to burn everytime you cook, it may be the end of your wasting time on that and moving on. Be open to run with what moves your spirit. There's always pizza.
I have no idea what these are but no doubt they came from the upside down
This is better than my sister's attempt lmao. She forgot to put in the baking powder, hence rock hard, dense, 2-inch-tall chocolate chip burnt "cupcakes" @Olive
Hate to break it to you, you made elephant toothpaste that isn't any kind of cupcake
Can't decide whether it looks like a black lady's flapjack titty or a black man's semi
my current amount of sanity is equivalent to the thing in the front there. Everyone else seems fine!?
Well, the black-eyed ones want to kill all life on earth. The other ones are fine.
I don't even know what apam is but this looks delicious lmao
the name of this dish should be "badak berendam" or roughly translated as swimming rhino. buuut...it came out look more as a rat..hence the nickname miss ti as in Tikus = rat.

I once put water on for eggs and forgot, for 2 hours. Ruined the pot, the lid handle melted and oozed inside as well :D. :\
Basil seeds. They are like chia seeds, they expand a bit when soaked in water and have a jelly-like consistency. In Malaysia, we make a rose syrup flavored drink and add basil seeds to it for a bit of texture. But somehow this person's husband bought cheap seeds that were mixed with something else, so nothing happened, the seeds didn't expand. Bit of an anticlimax, this one.

If only they had someone actually translate it, instead of Google. They're hard to read.
Not even Google. FB does posts translation on its own and most of the time is very crappy (also slang and other things don't get translated)
Load More Replies...Thanks to Bored Panda for highlighting this group.......truly the Movement Control Order (or in Bahasa Malaysia: Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan) has brought out the skilled and unskilled alike as we continue to stay at home until our government decided to lift the MCO...... Honestly, I'm not proud of all the "fails" produced....but as a joke and as learning lessons, we can honestly laugh and cry about it and do it right again until satisfied..... until then, enjoy the "works of labour" ;)
